Technical Project Manager - Job Description
About Decisions
Decisions is a fast-growing software company that helps organizations automate complex business processes with one platform for workflows, rules, integrations, and AI agents.
Trusted by enterprise and mid-market customers across industries, Decisions enables teams to modernize operations, improve accuracy and compliance, and deliver solutions faster in a governed environment. Our Professional Services team is central to that outcome. We partner closely with customers to scope, implement, and launch solutions that solve real operational problems and create measurable business value.
The Role
- This is a client-facing solution ownership and implementation leadership role that blends product thinking with strong project management discipline.
- You will lead engagements from problem framing and solution definition through execution planning, delivery, and go-live readiness ensuring that what is built is both valuable and successfully delivered.
- You will partner closely with Customers, Technical Leads, Architects, and Professional Services leadership to shape solutions that are feasible, aligned to business outcomes, and executable at a high level of quality.
- This role is for a project manager who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, defining value-driven scope, making trade-offs, and maintaining momentum across both discovery and delivery phases through effective communication and using influence.
- Success in this role means more than delivering on time; it means ensuring the right solution is defined, delivered effectively, and adopted to achieve measurable business outcomes.
- A successful Technical Project Manager brings a strong foundational understanding of the Decisions platform and can work credibly with technical leaders to facilitate solution discussions, assess implications, and support sound delivery decisions.
What You’ll Lead
Problem Framing & Solution Definition
- Lead structured discovery to understand customer problems, goals, and constraints
- Translate business needs into clear problem statements and outcome-driven MVP definitions
- Shape solution approaches in partnership with Technical Leads and Architects, ensuring feasibility and value alignment
- Challenge and refine requirements to focus on business impact, not just feature completeness
- Define scope boundaries that reflect prioritized value, not just initial requests
Delivery Planning & Execution
- Lead project scoping, planning, and execution from kick-off through deployment, defining clear scope boundaries, milestones, and ownership
- Translate solution scope into actionable delivery plans and structured backlogs
- Identify risks, dependencies, and scope changes early and drive structured resolution
- Facilitate backlog clarity, milestone tracking, and deployment readiness
- Act as the single source of truth for project status, risks, decisions, and next steps
- Manage scope control throughout the engagement by flagging scope creep, leading change order conversations, and helping maintain alignment to contract scope and expected outcomes
- Leverage delivery tooling and reporting mechanisms to keep project health, customer updates, and internal visibility clear and current
Dynamic Scope, Value, & Team Leadership
- Continuously align delivery to changing requirements, technical realities, and business priorities
- Make informed trade-offs between scope, timeline, and value in partnership with stakeholders
- Re-prioritize work based on impact, feasibility, and delivery progress
- Ensure alignment between contracted scope, intended outcomes, and actual delivered value
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams, helping align Developers, Architecture, and customer stakeholders around priorities and delivery goals.
- Provide day-to-day delivery leadership so team members understand what is needed, when it is needed, and how their work connects to the client’s intended outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years leading client-facing software, SaaS, or platform implementations
- Strong experience defining and shaping scope, not just managing it
- Ability to operate across both discovery (what/why) and delivery (how/when)
- Confidence working with senior client stakeholders and leading clear communication in both steady-state and high-pressure situations
- Ability to partner credibly with technical leaders on architecture, integrations, and delivery trade-offs, with a foundational understanding of the Decisions platform.
- Strong ownership mindset, with focus on customer outcomes, usability, and value realized
- Calm, organized, and solution-oriented under pressure
- Experience in Professional Services, consulting, or implementation environments preferred
- Experience with workflow automation, integration-heavy solutions, or process transformation is a plus
Why Join the Decisions Professional Services Team:
This role goes beyond traditional project management by combining product-level thinking with strong execution leadership.
Technical Project Managers at Decisions don’t just coordinate delivery, they actively shape the solution approach, influence how work gets done, and drive meaningful client outcomes.
You’ll work closely with technical and delivery leaders, with the opportunity to contribute directly to both what gets built and how it’s delivered, while continuously improving delivery quality and impact.
