About fab2

The fab2 team can build anything. We design all the hardware and software needed to make chips and we make the fabs, tools, and components ourselves.
We're looking for exceptional, hands-on people who can iterate to the limits of what's possible.

fab2 was founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. Sam is best known for making chips in his garage, and Jim has been a leader in the semiconductor industry for the past 40 years.

About the team

We build the team that builds the tools that build the chips. Our role is to align closely with product and business goals to execute the hiring plan with precision, care, and integrity. We take accountability at every step of the process, knowing that each hire contributes directly to the company’s success. As trusted advisors to hiring managers and teams, we help shape the future of the company, one great hire at a time.

About the role

We’re seeking a full-cycle Technical Recruiter to join our team and play a pivotal role in Fab2's growth. As the company scales, our recruiting function must scale alongside it. At this early stage, you’ll support a wide variety of roles across mechanical, electrical, software, process, people, and operations teams, depending on business priorities.

We’re looking for someone who can independently lead full-cycle recruiting for highly technical engineering roles, operate as a strategic partner to hiring teams, and bring a genuine curiosity for what we’re building. This role offers significant ownership and impact from day one, with potential growth into a leadership role as our team expands.

The ideal candidate combines technical curiosity, strategic partnership, and a passion for building thriving company cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full recruiting life cycle for deeply technical engineering roles in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Source creatively and strategically to engage top talent across diverse markets, writing compelling outreach that resonates with passive candidates

  • Maintain our bar for passion and curiosity to ensure we scale our positive and maker culture

  • Partner closely with hiring managers and executives to define hiring criteria, calibrate roles, and make confident, informed hiring decisions

  • Deliver an exceptional and genuine candidate experience that conveys our mission, values, and employee value proposition

  • Extend offers aligned with our compensation philosophy, with fluency in startup equity structures and value

Required Experience

  • 3 years of experience sourcing and closing candidates for highly technical engineering roles (e.g., hardware, software, semiconductor, or related fields)

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage full-cycle recruiting in a high-growth or fast-paced environment

  • Proven excellence in candidate experience and closing strategies

  • Strong ability to partner with senior leadership and influence hiring decisions

  • Analytical, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach to recruiting challenges

Nice-to-have

  • Prior experience working in a Startup

  • Experience with startup equity discussions and negotiations with candidates

  • Prior experience with Ashby and Notion
