About NextPatient

We’re a small, focused team building modern software for medical practices.

The software patients experience at the doctor’s office is often outdated and frustrating. We fix this by integrating directly with legacy practice systems and providing tools like online scheduling, bill pay via text, digital check-in, interactive reminders, automated waitlists, and more.

Patients get a modern, convenient experience. Practices save time, reduce overhead, and improve access to care.

We’re trusted by thousands of healthcare providers across the country and support significant production volume—without outside venture funding. We’ve grown deliberately, stayed profitable, and focus on building durable systems rather than chasing short-term hype.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced in-house Technical Software Recruiter to own and run our software engineering hiring process as we grow our engineering team.

Over the next year, you’ll partner closely with engineering leadership to hire 4 high-impact software engineers across backend, frontend, and platform roles. This is a hands-on, end-to-end recruiting role focused on quality—not volume.

You’ll own everything from job postings and sourcing through screening, coordination, and closing. Technical interviews and deep technical evaluation will be conducted by our lead developer, with you ensuring the overall process is structured, efficient, and high-signal.

This role is ideal for recruiters who care deeply about candidate experience, screening quality, and building a recruiting process that scales thoughtfully.
What You’ll Do

  • Own the full-cycle recruiting process for engineering roles (posting → sourcing → screening → coordination → closing)

  • Review applications and proactively source high-quality passive candidates

  • Conduct recruiter screening calls to assess experience, communication, values, and role fit

  • Partner with engineering leadership to define role requirements, screening criteria, and hiring priorities

  • Coordinate and manage technical interviews led by the engineering team

  • Maintain clear pipelines, structured feedback loops, and decision timelines

  • Ensure a consistent, respectful, and high-quality candidate experience

  • Continuously refine recruiting workflows and interview logistics as the company grows

  • Act as a steward of our employer brand in technical and professional communities

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of technical recruiting experience (in-house strongly preferred)

  • Proven success hiring senior software engineers in a high-bar environment

  • Strong screening instincts and the ability to identify promising candidates before technical interviews

  • Comfort owning recruiting operations independently end-to-end

  • Excellent communication, judgment, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work closely with engineers while respecting their time

  • Comfort operating in a profitable, product-driven, bootstrapped environment

Why This Role Is Different
Quality over quantity
You’ll focus on a small number of high-impact hires—not high-volume recruiting.
Clear ownership
You run the recruiting process; engineering focuses on technical depth.
Stability with momentum
Profitable, established company with meaningful growth ahead.
Healthy culture
Low attrition, thoughtful leadership, and a sustainable pace.

Employment Structure
This is a full-time, W-2 position initially structured as a fixed-term role (approximately 12 months), aligned to the project of hiring and onboarding our next phase of software engineers.
The role includes our full employee benefits package, including unlimited PTO, healthcare, 401(k), and other standard benefits.
This position will be evaluated on performance and evolving business needs, with the potential for earlier conversion to a permanent role if there is strong mutual fit and continued hiring demand.

If you’re excited by the idea of building a strong engineering team inside a calm, high-performing company—and want real ownership over how hiring is done—this is a rare opportunity.
