At Summit, we're on the lookout for talent that doesn't just think "outside the box," but brings their own unique perspective to the table. With our relentless pursuit of excellence and curiosity, we lead innovation in our industry. We humanize technology by actively listening to our clients, crafting tailored proposals, and delivering on the promise of technology with precision and purpose.

Summit is a leading provider of enterprise-class Application Hosting, Managed Services, and Cloud Solutions for regulated industries, with deep experience supporting compliance, security, and performance in complex IT environments. Our mission is to simplify the complex - ensuring our clients’ technology environments are secure, performant, and purpose-built for their most critical applications.

As a Technical Writer within Technical Operations, you will transform complex operational and technical workflows into clear, structured, and scalable documentation across Service Delivery, Service Operations, Data Center Operations, and Project Management.

This role is embedded within the operational organization — not marketing. Your work directly impacts execution quality, onboarding speed, audit readiness, and cross-functional alignment. You will partner with engineers, project managers, data center teams, and service delivery leaders to codify processes, eliminate ambiguity, and strengthen operational maturity.

If you believe clarity is leverage, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, workflow documentation, and process maps across Technical Operations
  • Partner with subject matter experts to translate complex technical procedures into clear, usable documentation
  • Document onboarding workflows, change management processes, escalation paths, and client delivery lifecycles
  • Support documentation for data center processes including installations, hardware lifecycle workflows, maintenance procedures, and operational controls
  • Standardize project documentation templates and governance artifacts in partnership with Project Management
  • Audit existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, and usability
  • Identify documentation gaps and proactively recommend improvements
  • Maintain structure, version control, and governance within Confluence (or equivalent knowledge management systems)

What You’ll Deliver:
  • Standardized, audit-ready documentation across Service Delivery, Service Operations, Data Center Operations, and PMO
  • Clear escalation and handoff documentation between Sales, Delivery, and Operations
  • Improved onboarding materials that reduce ramp time and increase execution consistency
  • Documentation governance standards that reduce risk and knowledge silos
  • Process clarity that improves cross-functional alignment and operational efficiency
  • Living documentation that evolves alongside operational change

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:
  • Have experience documenting technical or operational processes in infrastructure, managed services, hosting, cloud, or data center environments
  • Naturally organize complexity into structured, logical frameworks
  • Ask strong follow-up questions and challenge ambiguity
  • Are comfortable working directly with engineers, operators, and project managers
  • Care deeply about precision, accuracy, and usability
  • Balance independence with strong cross-functional collaboration
  • View documentation not as paperwork, but as operational enablement

Bonus Points:
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments
  • Familiarity with ITIL, change management, or incident management frameworks
  • Exposure to data center operations or infrastructure lifecycle processes
  • Experience building documentation governance standards from the ground up
  • Prior work in enterprise hosting, managed services, or cloud environments
