Job Summary
The Timekeeping Coordinator I is responsible for accurate and timely processing of employee timecards and related payroll data, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. This role provides essential support to the payroll department and various project teams.
Job Responsibilities
* Collect, verify, and input employee timecard data into the designated timekeeping system.
* Review time entries for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies, union agreements, and labor laws.
* Communicate with employees and supervisors to resolve discrepancies or clarify missing information on timecards.
* Generate and distribute various timekeeping reports as required by management or project teams.
* Assist with the setup and maintenance of employee profiles and project codes within the timekeeping system.
* Support payroll processing by providing validated time data in a timely manner.
* Maintain organized and confidential timekeeping records.
* Respond to employee inquiries regarding timekeeping procedures and pay.
* Identify and escalate complex timekeeping issues to senior staff or management.
* Participate in training and development activities to enhance timekeeping knowledge and skills.
Job Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* 1-2 years of experience in data entry, administrative support, or a related field, preferably with some exposure to timekeeping or payroll functions.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
* Experience with timekeeping software (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, Kronos) is a plus.
* Basic understanding of payroll processes and labor regulations is desirable.
