Job Responsibilities:
Description:
The Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for daily operations for M.E. Divisions' Trade Compliance functions, data management systems, special import trade programs and overall import feasibility aspects of the import environment. This position supports the necessary interaction within the different M.E. Divisions, Departments within M.E., and M.E. service suppliers to ensure that M.E. is paying the appropriate amount of duties and on a timely basis to the applicable Customs agencies.
Onsite Assessments of M.E. Divisions:
  • Data mining, Classification review for accuracy
  • Assist and follow through of open items, as assigned

Support development of corrective actions with Customs Agency:
  • Customs inquires/Actions/CBPF-28/CPPF-29 responses
    • Classification
    • FTAs

Support Broker Directive functions:
  • Trouble shooting concerns and patterns a broker is following
  • Identify options for issue resolution
  • Monitor excepting reporting and resolution

Daily operational functions to review:
  • Support the submission of 232-Auto Parts per OEM License
  • Classification process
    • Review and modify current HTS classifications as necessary by M.E. Division
    • Assignment of commodity HTS numbers on new parts, engineering change, service parts, etc.
    • Research for applicable HTS
    • Work with 3rd party service provider and M.E. Divisions, Engineering, etc. for details necessary for HTS assignment
  • FTA/Country of origin solicitations
    • Work with 3rd party service provider on missing and/or incorrect documents
    • Immediately identify any changes in workflow or process functions for desk procedure updates
  • FTA qualification processing
    • Maintain exceptions, follow up with vendor/supplier for corrections and/or additional information
    • Support M.E. Divisions on qualification process.

  • Customer responses
    • Work with and support M.E. Divisions on responding to customers
  • Identify necessary modifications to work instructions as required
  • Running reports in ACE as needed

Qualifications:
Education/Special Knowledge/Skills
Customs Broker's License, CCS - preferred
Some Technical knowledge of Customs Regulations and Trade Program Requirements
Basic understanding of Customs Compliance Requirements (Canada and U.S.)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Persuasive, tactful, and articulate
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Self-motivated, flexible, detail oriented and able to meet tight deadlines
Strong investigation and problem-solving skills
Team oriented work ethic
Strong Microsoft application skills in Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
Experience
Between 2 - 3 years of Customs experience
Between 1 - 3 years' experience working in ACE
Between 2 - 3 years strong Classification experience
Between 2 - 3 years strong FTA Solicitation, Qualification, Customer Responses experience
Physical Demands/Work Environment - Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer and in manufacturing facilities.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, if required.
