About Early Media

Early Media is creating and distributing groundbreaking original series. We craft narratives with viral potential while preserving the heart of indie production, telling meaningful stories audiences actually care about. Every creative decision is sharpened by a proprietary testing and marketing engine that collapses the distance between filmmaker and audience into the tightest iteration loop in the industry.

We're hiring an unscripted editor to shape hours of real-world footage into premium, YouTube-style content, the kind that earns attention instead of just capturing it. You'll cut across our unscripted slate, including character-driven docuseries, challenges, and many other formats working alongside directors and producers who trust you to shape the stories.

What you'll own
  • Editorial from assembly to picture lock. Delivering creative and polished edits on time and at the highest quality bar.

  • The story in the footage. You're not executing a script, you're finding narrative threads, moments, and character arcs in raw material.

  • Cuts with a YouTube-native sensibility: strong hooks, pattern interrupts, and pacing that holds attention instead of losing it.

  • Your edit pipeline, with an Assistant Editor, keeping media and workflow clean at a high-volume, fast-turnaround cadence. 15-minute shoots into tight 5-minute pieces, delivered every 2-3 weeks.

  • Clean handoff to finishing. Organized and consistent workflow so color, sound, and VFX run smoothly every time.

  • Help build the department. If you need a highly structured environment to do your best work, this probably isn't the right fit. We're moving fast and building as we go.

Must Haves
  • Efficient editor with a strong creative point of view.

  • A strong editorial portfolio in unscripted content: docuseries, documentary, reality, or social-first formats, demonstrating clear storytelling instincts and the ability to build narrative from raw footage.

  • Fluency editing in a YouTube style. You understand the grammar of high-performing YouTube content: how to open a video, how to structure acts, where to place pattern interrupts, and can explain why cuts from large creators work.

  • Proven fast-turnaround experience. You've worked in environments where content ships on a regular schedule and you’ve built or adopted the systems that make the process sustainable.

  • Expert in Premiere Pro. You have years of experience in Premiere and understand collaborative workflows, sync sound, finishing round trips, and proxy workflows.

  • Working knowledge of other disciplines. You can create graphics, temp VFX, sound design, and beyond to strengthen how creative intent is communicated.

  • Strong Organizational Skills. You're detail-oriented and understand the value of proper workflow and naming conventions. Organized enough to run multiple projects on a high-volume slate without losing quality.

Nice to Have
  • Background in both short-form content and unscripted entertainment. Comfortable shifting between formats, concepts, and episode lengths.

  • Proficient in motion graphics. Able to come up with ideas for how GFX could aid in the story and implement those ideas independently.

  • Background with a larger team. You have worked in a post-house, prod-company, or projects multiple post team members and understand how workflows run at a larger scale.

  • Mentoring Experience. You enjoy developing assistant editors and young talent.
