What You’ll Do:

SambaSafety is looking for an experienced UX Designer to play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our software products, ensuring they are intuitive, engaging, and meet the highest standards of usability. You will collaborate closely with others as an integral part of our balanced team approach, including product managers, engineers, business stakeholders and other designers to translate business requirements and user needs into elegant, user-centric designs. 

At SambaSafety, we place great emphasis on the "UX" aspect of a UX designer. Our UX designers are more than just UI designers, acting as the voice of the user within a balanced project team to ensure a deep understanding of user needs and use cases when designing valuable solutions for our customers.   

  • Lead the design process from concept to implementation, leveraging user-centered design principles and best practices. 
  • Act as the voice of the user within the balanced team, ensuring that user needs and perspectives are represented in all stages of the design process. 
  • Conduct user research and interviews, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions and validate concepts. 
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions. 
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to prioritize features and functionalities based on user feedback and business goals. 
  • Champion user experience design across the organization, advocating for the importance of user-centered design principles and methodologies. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools to continuously improve our design processes and deliverables.

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) designing user interfaces for complex software applications, preferably in a B2B environment. 
  • Experience using AI driven UX tools to speed design ideation phases and focus time on qualitative user research. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving skills, and ability to deliver innovative and user-centric designs. 
  • Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and translating findings into actionable design insights. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively present and articulate design decisions to stakeholders. 
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment. 
  • Experience designing data visualization interfaces and workflows that empower users to make informed decisions and take action on complex data sets. 
  • Proficiency with Figma. 
  • Familiarity with defining and using design systems and automating code handoff with engineering counterparts. 
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is desirable but not required. 
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand customer problems. 
  • Self-starter and able to meet objectives independently. 
  • This position requires periodic travel as well as adjustable start times due to time zones.
