Job Description

The VCF Principal Engineer serves as the strategic technical leader for large‑scale VMware Cloud Foundation programs. This role blends deep solution design expertise with high-impact planning, helping enterprise customers modernize their infrastructure.


We are seeking a heavy VMware expert who is ready to be trained in and transition the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platform.  The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced mastery of the core VMware ecosystem (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria) excels in translating business outcomes into secure, resilient, and scalable designs.  In this role, you will bring your deep architectural knowledge to the table while we provide the training and resources for you to become a leading VCF Knight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end‑to‑end design engagements, including discovery workshops, requirement analysis, and solution planning.
  • Develop and defend High‑Level Designs (HLDs) and Low‑Level Designs (LLDs) for complex, multi‑site VCF environments.
  • Serve as the highest‑level technical escalation point for VMware solutions (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, HCX, and DR) while actively training on the broader VCF stack.
  • Plan hybrid cloud integrations with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including migration strategies and HCX‑based mobility.
  • Define security, compliance, and operational standards aligned with frameworks such as PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, and FedRAMP.
  • Produce reference designs, validated configurations, best‑practice guides, and internal enablement materials.
  • Partner with sales, delivery leadership, and customer executives to shape program scope, success criteria, and modernization roadmaps.
  • Ensure solution alignment across compute, storage, networking, automation, and cloud management platforms.
  • Mentor senior engineers and contribute to internal capability development.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Advanced expertise with core VMware ecosystem: vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and Aria Suite.
  • Eagerness to learn: A strong willingness and technical aptitude to complete comprehensive training to become a subject matter expert in VMware cloud Foundation (VCF).
  • Ability to translate business requirements (RTO/RPO, SLA, compliance, cost models) into actionable technical plans.
  • Proven experience designing multi-datacenter or global VMware solutions.
  • Deep understanding of hybrid cloud planning, migrations, and hyperscaler integrations.
  • Experience designing secure, compliant, and highly available private cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior exposure to or foundational knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation is a major plus, but not strictly required.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) in relevant tracks.
Background
  • 8–12 years of experience in enterprise IT, solution design, or cloud engineering.
  • Prior roles focused on technical planning, solution development, or large‑scale infrastructure design.
