Job Summary
MicroVentures is looking for a Venture Analyst to help conduct due diligence for investments in startups. The Venture Analyst plays a key role in presenting findings to angel investors, venture capitalists, and high-net worth individuals through high quality written reports. The Venture Analyst will work directly with investment targets to complete a thorough due diligence process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Reading/reviewing business plans and pitch decks
- Assessing market/company attractiveness to help identify compelling businesses
- Involvement in all aspects of due diligence on new investments (business analysis, industry theses, competitive landscape, business/pricing model, and data collection)
- Writing comprehensive research reports about investment opportunities
- Skillfully mining data sources for relevant information

- Staying current on tech industry trends
- Reviewing and understanding investor documents and other capital raise details
- Constructing accurately detailed summaries of the startup’s business model
- Finding accurate information from reputable sources
- Monitoring the venture capital and tech startup landscape
Required Qualifications
- You must have a strong understanding of financing and accounting
- You must be familiar with the investment due diligence process
- You must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with limited supervision
- Strong writing and grammar skills are a must
- A due diligence writing sample will be requested
