This role requires an expert leader in Software Engineering, DevOps, and Security who can ensure clear alignment between the annual strategic vision and actionable quarterly Product Increments (PIs). Reporting directly to the Vice President, Software Engineering, they will be responsible for managing development velocity with system stability, establishing robust security postures, and fostering a culture of technical innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Multi-Unit Engineering Leadership: drive the technical vision and delivery strategy of Business Units, ensuring that architecture and engineering output align with company objectives and market opportunities.
  • Vertical DevOps Strategy: Lead the DevOps function across the entire Vertical, implementing CI/CD best practices, infrastructure automation, and reliability engineering to ensure a steady, predictable rhythm of delivery.
  • Software Security & Compliance: Own the Software Security roadmap, integrating security best practices (DevSecOps) into the software development lifecycle, managing vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Agile Planning & Execution: Partner with Product Management to lead the definition, planning, and execution of quarterly Product Increments (PIs), ensuring engineering resources are optimized to deliver high-value features on time.
  • Technical Roadmap Alignment: Collaborate on the annual technical roadmap, ensuring it supports the product vision while addressing technical debt, architectural runway, and scalability requirements.
  • Team Leadership & Growth: Lead, mentor, and scale a diverse engineering organization—including Managers, Architects, and DevOps Engineers—fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with the Company's engineering culture.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Customer Experience, and Sales, to ensure that technical solutions are viable, scalable, and support successful go-to-market strategies.
  • Performance & Quality Measurement: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding code quality, system uptime (SLA/SLO), deployment frequency, and security posture to drive data-driven decision-making.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering leadership (Director level preferred), with specific experience managing multiple teams or business units simultaneously.
  • DevOps & Cloud Mastery: Proven expertise in leading DevOps transformations and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), with a deep understanding of containerization, orchestration, and release management.
  • Security Expertise: Strong background in Application Security (AppSec), including experience with threat modeling, secure coding standards, and managing security audits in a regulated environment.
  • Agile Leadership: Deep, practical experience with Scrum, SAFe, or similar Agile scaling frameworks, with a proven ability to partner with Product leadership during annual planning and quarterly Product Increment (PI) planning cycles.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to translate complex business requirements into a cohesive technical strategy that balances feature delivery with long-term architectural health.
  • Team Development: Proven experience in recruiting, mentoring, and motivating engineering leaders and individual contributors to achieve high performance and retention.
  • Collaboration: Strong communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and non-technical business stakeholders.

Salary Range: $115,140- $150,000 USD
