Job Summary

You are a builder, a strategic thinker, and an exceptional writer. You are ready to be part of a growing creative department where you can make a visible impact through your leadership, point of view, and ability to turn complex healthcare challenges into clear, compelling ideas.

As Vice President, Creative Director, Copy, you will be a senior creative leader responsible for setting the conceptual and verbal direction across brands, campaigns, and experiences. You will lead the development of strategically grounded creative ideas and bring a high bar for writing, storytelling, craft, and brand voice to every stage of the process.

You will also be an invested people leader: a mentor who gives clear direction, thoughtful feedback, and active support; a manager who creates clarity, accountability, and room for people to grow; and a creative partner who helps writers and multidisciplinary teams do the best work of their careers.

You will partner closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Strategy, Account, Project Management, Medical, and Client teams to develop work that is distinctive, effective, and executable across channels. You will lead and mentor copy talent, help build a strong creative culture, and ensure the team produces work that is as thoughtful and precise as it is ambitious.

This role is for someone who can move comfortably between big-picture brand thinking and the details that make an idea land: a campaign platform, a brand voice, a headline, a manifesto, a patient story, an HCP narrative, a social-first idea, a digital experience, or a piece of work that needs to communicate clearly in a highly regulated environment.

Job Responsibilities and Skills

  • Lead the conceptual and verbal development of integrated healthcare marketing, branding, launch, and campaign initiatives across HCP, patient, DTC, digital, social, experiential, internal, and emerging channels.
  • Establish and protect brand voice, messaging systems, and editorial standards across assigned brands and initiatives.
  • Partner with Art and Design leadership to develop strong, integrated creative ideas where copy and visual expression are inseparable.
  • Translate strategic, scientific, and business objectives into clear, original, emotionally resonant creative platforms and communications.
  • Lead the writing and refinement of high-impact creative work, including campaign platforms, brand narratives, headlines, long- and short-form copy, digital content, social content, video scripts, presentations, and other communications.
  • Lead social creative development, including platform-aware concepts, channel-native content, editorial systems, community-conscious thinking, and creative that can work at the pace of social.
  • Provide clear creative direction, actionable feedback, and mentorship to copywriters and multidisciplinary creative teams.
  • Serve as a strong, accessible manager and people leader who sets clear expectations, supports professional development, recognizes great work, and helps team members navigate challenges.
  • Build talent intentionally by coaching writers at different stages of their careers, creating opportunities for growth, and helping people strengthen both their craft and strategic confidence.
  • Raise the quality of thinking and craft across the department by setting a high standard for concepting, writing, storytelling, and presentation.
  • Present creative work and strategic rationale with clarity and confidence to internal partners and clients.
  • Lead high-stakes new-business pitches and organic-growth opportunities, shaping the creative narrative, developing differentiated ideas, guiding pitch teams, and presenting with clarity, confidence, and conviction to prospective and current clients.
  • Partner with Strategy, Medical, Regulatory, and Account teams to ensure creative ideas are accurate, compliant, strategically sound, and built to move efficiently through review.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the right creative approach, staffing model, review path, and deliverables for each assignment.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-moving environment while protecting the quality and integrity of the work.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve creative processes, strengthen collaboration, and bring the right talent to the work early.
  • Stay current on healthcare marketing, culture, technology, media, AI-enabled creative tools, and emerging creative practices.
  • Act as a visible leader and ambassador for Woven’s creative standards, culture, and point of view.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Significant experience as a Creative Director, Group Copy Supervisor, Associate Creative Director, or comparable senior copy leadership role within a healthcare advertising agency, medical communications agency, or in-house healthcare creative team.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating breakthrough conceptual thinking, exceptional writing, brand-building, integrated campaign development, social-first thinking, and work across multiple channels.
  • Deep experience translating complex clinical, scientific, and regulatory information into clear, compelling, audience-appropriate communications.
  • Proven experience leading creative teams, mentoring copywriters, and partnering effectively with art, design, strategy, account, medical, and project-management counterparts.
  • Demonstrated success as a manager and mentor, with a thoughtful approach to developing talent, delivering feedback, establishing accountability, and creating an inclusive, high-performing team culture.
  • Strong command of healthcare marketing principles, including HCP and patient communications, launch planning, brand strategy, social media, and the medical/legal/regulatory review environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and evolve brand voice, messaging frameworks, and editorial systems.
  • Proven experience leading and presenting in successful new-business pitches, organic-growth presentations, and other high-visibility client opportunities.
  • A strategic, collaborative approach with the ability to connect business objectives, customer insights, and creative opportunity.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and client-facing skills, with the ability to articulate creative rationale clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort using AI-enabled creative tools and an active interest in how emerging technology can strengthen creative process and output.
  • A generous leadership style, high standards, sound judgment, and a commitment to fostering a healthy, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
