Purpose:

Job Description Summary
The Vice President, Division Sales Manager provides leadership, direction and functional expertise to ensure departmental results for the Independent Broker Dealer Channel in our West region. The DVP will direct and motivate their assigned sales team(s) and set strategic priorities and activities within the channel which will lead to an increase in sales revenue and market share within assigned area of responsibility.


Accountabilities:

  • Manage and develop a high performing team of professional field sales individuals.

  • Monitor and assess individual sales team member performance and growth.

  • Negotiate web linkages, publication visibility, conference call participation, operational support and training resources to drive new business flow.

  • Proactively bring sales ideas/concepts and growth strategies to distribution partners.

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight on assigned team(s) sales goals and objectives.

  • Allocate, oversee and adhere to financial budgets for assigned region and enforce Athene’s Travel & Entertainment Policy & Procedures.

  • Coordinate necessary internal resources and calendars when planning joint meetings and events.

  • Determine and help construct Channel Value Add components.

  • Establish and assume responsibility for individual distributor meetings, conferences and marketing calendars.

  • In partnership with National Sales Manager, identify and recruit channel sales team talent.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience in external wholesale role that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.

  • 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience required.

  • State insurance license required.

  • Registered Principal license required.

  • 6, 63, 26, Life and Health licenses required within first 6 months.

  • Annuities experience is essential.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.

  • 75% travel.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.


$163,200.00 - $244,800.00 USD Annual


Annual Salary for this role is market competitive.  Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.  Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
