The Role
Presidio's Vice President of Strategic Engagement serves as a key executive leader responsible for driving operational, financial, and strategic value across our vendor ecosystem and high-value client portfolio. This role leads the teams that oversee vendor relationships representing over $30-40M in annual cost of goods sold (COGS) and manages strategic client engagement programs supported by dedicated delivery and support resources.  The ideal candidate is an enterprise-minded leader with deep experience in technology managed services, strategic sourcing, and customer success. This individual will ensure that vendor partnerships deliver innovation and margin efficiency, while client engagements achieve superior service delivery, renewal performance, and sustained satisfaction.

Travel Requirements:

This role will be remotely based in the Continental US.  Associated travel for this role will be up to 50% as necessary.

Responsibilities Include: 

Strategy & Management

  • Develop and execute the global vendor management strategy across infrastructure, cloud, software, and hardware categories.
  • Optimize $30M+ in vendor COGS annually through strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and performance management. 
  • Drive commercial alignment and operational excellence across clients, partners, ensuring cost efficiency and SLAs that enable margin growth.
  • Lead client engagement, vendor governance reviews, financial forecasting, and lifecycle management to identify cost-saving and revenue-accretive opportunities.

Strategic Client Engagement

  • Oversee the engagement lifecycle for strategic accounts with dedicated support teams to ensure exceptional delivery performance.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to align service quality, contract compliance, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for key enterprise clients, driving relationship health, renewals, and expansion initiatives.
  • Establish metrics for client performance, resource optimization, and cost-to-serve efficiency.

Leadership & Transformation

  • Lead a cross-functional team of vendor managers, client engagement directors, and service delivery specialists.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process and tool standardization across vendor and client engagement operations.
  • Partner with Finance and Technology disciplines to optimize gross margin performance and vendor pass-through strategies.

Required Skills and Professional Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent work experience and/or military experience (MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred)
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in managed services, technology consulting, or IT operations 
  • Proven record managing ecosystems exceeding $30M+ annual spend and $70m+ revenue
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success improving COGS and gross margin metrics 
  • Executive-level experience managing enterprise client relationships and operational delivery teams 
  • Deep understanding of cloud services, networking, infrastructure, and managed support frameworks 
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and executive stakeholder management skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
