Executive Nursing Leadership Opportunity

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Nursing Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing services across assigned behavioral health and substance use treatment programs. This executive leadership role is responsible for advancing nursing quality, regulatory compliance, workforce development, and operational consistency while supporting organizational growth and expansion initiatives.

This is a hybrid leadership position with regular travel required between facilities and programs.

Required QualificationsEducation & Licensure
  • Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice or reciprocal state required

  • Current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification required

Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing leadership experience required

  • Experience supervising multi-site or multi-program nursing operations preferred

  • Experience with regulatory surveys, accreditation processes, and quality improvement initiatives preferred

  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and co-occurring disorder programs preferred

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership and operational management skills within healthcare and behavioral health environments

  • Knowledge of nursing practice standards, medication management, infection control, and healthcare regulations

  • Strong understanding of accreditation and regulatory standards including CARF, DDAP, OMHSAS, and Joint Commission

  • Ability to lead multi-site nursing operations and standardize clinical practices

  • Strong workforce planning, staffing, and leadership development capabilities

  • Ability to analyze operational and quality performance data and implement improvement initiatives

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to respond effectively to crisis situations and operational challenges

  • Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and nursing excellence

Position Summary

The Vice President of Nursing Operations provides executive oversight and leadership for nursing services across Pyramid Healthcare programs and facilities. This role partners closely with Operations, Clinical, Quality, and Compliance leadership teams to support safe and effective client care environments while ensuring achievement of organizational and regulatory standards.

The VP of Nursing Operations also plays a key role in program expansion initiatives, nursing workforce development, operational consistency, and clinical quality improvement efforts across the organization.

Key ResponsibilitiesNursing Leadership & Operations
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for nursing services across assigned facilities and programs

  • Lead nursing operations for new program start-ups and expansion initiatives

  • Provide mentorship and leadership support to Directors of Nursing, Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and nursing teams

  • Support workforce planning, staffing strategies, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives

Clinical Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with nursing practice standards, medication management regulations, infection control requirements, and accreditation standards

  • Support facilities in maintaining CARF, DDAP, OMHSAS, Joint Commission, ASAM, and other applicable regulatory standards

  • Conduct and support chart audits, documentation reviews, and operational assessments

  • Identify compliance concerns and assist with development and implementation of corrective action plans

Training & Development
  • Facilitate onboarding, orientation, and mentorship of nursing staff

  • Support organizational nursing education and training initiatives

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and nursing excellence

Organizational Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Compliance, and Performance Improvement departments to support positive clinical and operational outcomes

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership teams to optimize operations and resource utilization across facilities

  • Participate in leadership on-call responsibilities as assigned

  • Support organizational growth and development of new service lines and programs
