What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Producers to capture authentic marketing videos that meet the brief and uphold brand standards.
- Exemplify consistent tradecraft across a variety of videography projects and tiers: Marcom campaigns, e-commerce videos, live streaming and other video productions.
- Execute video projects from preproduction through final video delivery, including the preparation, setup, shooting and breakdown. Proactively identify and solve technical issues, ensuring efficient communication and meeting deadlines.
- Partner with art directors and content directors on creating shot lists and executing the video and lighting style of each production.
- As assigned, execute lighting for both location and in-studio shoots, including giving direction to gaffers and assistants and conducting tech scouts.
- Partner with Post-production and Media Content Services on proper video file delivery protocols, color considerations and shooting specifications.
- Support the maintenance, organization, and expansion of videography equipment-including cameras and lighting-to ensure optimal image quality.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices-particularly in pet photography-and contribute to initiatives that improve techniques, processes, and elevate creative quality and studio capabilities.
- Contribute and advise on videography equipment purchases and rentals.
What You'll Need:
- 3+ years of studio experience within a video studio, production company or creative agency, including on-location productions.
- 1+ years of in-depth lighting experience, including narrative lighting design and execution, is preferred.
- A strong portfolio that highlights experience in video production, with both in studio and location lighting techniques.
- High competency in DSLR and mirrorless camera video production; experience with high-end cinematic and RED cameras preferred.
- Ability to utilize various lighting modifiers such as soft boxes, flags, reflectors, color gels, etc. and to troubleshoot different lighting challenges and propose creative options during preproduction. Experience with studio lighting grids and controlling software or apps preferred.
- A creative eye to translate concepts into a variety of visually compelling shots and angles with a problem-solving mindset to deliver on the ask.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to consistently work effectively as part of a team to earn trust and create a positive environment on set.
- Ability to support and execute multiple project timelines simultaneously by prioritizing time, utilizing resources, identifying and addressing problems, and meeting deadlines.
- Agile movement, quick reflexes, and endurance to capture dynamic pet footage along with the physical capability to lift and maneuver lighting equipment and gear.
- Professional and polished demeanor in dealing with internal and external partners and leaders.
- Ability to help define and follow Chewy brand guidelines and creative standards.
- Ability to follow directions from senior team members and apply brand guidelines in support of Marketing's creative goals and Chewy's business objectives.
- Experience with software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Office360 and Google Apps is preferred.
- Passion for pets and an understanding of their behavior and characteristics to effectively capture their personalities and actions in photos.
- Experience with video equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair is a bonus.
- Position may require travel. Expect flexibility in work hours and schedules based on production needs.
