At MirrorWeb, we help organizations preserve and protect their digital communications for compliance, risk, and governance purposes. Our SaaS platform is used by highly regulated firms to capture, archive, and monitor web and digital content in real-time—ensuring transparency, traceability, and peace of mind.

We are a private equity-backed company undergoing rapid growth and transformation. As we scale globally, we're building a world-class finance and operations team to support our long-term success. This is your opportunity to join at a pivotal moment and help shape the next chapter of MirrorWeb’s journey.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP Accounting/Finance to lead the global accounting and FP&A function for MirrorWeb. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on financial leader who thrives in dynamic, transformative environments and has a track record of building scalable processes, systems, and teams.

The Controller will report directly to the CFO and will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, global compliance, M&A accounting, and systems implementation. You’ll play a pivotal role in reducing the time to close, strengthening controls, and preparing the business for future growth and complexity—including accounting system migrations and international consolidation.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Leadership

  • Lead and optimize day-to-day accounting operations across the U.S. and international entities, including general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, tax, revenue recognition, and treasury.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the monthly close process to achieve faster, more accurate financial reporting.
  • Build and manage a distributed accounting team, including direct reports in the UK/US.
  • Develop and maintain global accounting policies, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and other relevant standards.

Tax Compliance: U.S. & International

  • Oversee U.S. sales tax compliance and filings, including nexus reviews, rates, and integrations with billing platforms.
  • Lead UK VAT compliance, including filings, reconciliations, and working with local advisors.
  • Ensure proper indirect tax handling within billing, procurement, and accounting systems.
  • Coordinate with external tax and audit partners on domestic and international tax matters.

International Entity Oversight

  • Manage the financial operations of our UK/US entities and any additional subsidiaries.
  • Ensure compliance with UK statutory requirements, including corporate tax, annual audits, and Companies House filings.
  • Handle multi-currency accounting, including foreign exchange translation adjustments and intercompany eliminations.
  • Perform multi-entity consolidations and provide accurate global financial reporting.

M&A Accounting & Integration

  • Lead the accounting and reporting for current and future M&A transactions, including purchase accounting under ASC 805, due diligence, and integration of acquired entities.
  • Ensure acquired operations are swiftly and seamlessly integrated into systems, processes, and internal controls.

Systems Leadership & Transformation

  • Manage and optimize current systems:
    • Xero (accounting)
    • Maxio (billing and revenue recognition)
    • Salesforce (CRM)
  • Lead the assessment, selection, and implementation of future finance systems to support scale (e.g., migrating from Xero to NetSuite or similar ERP).
  • Design workflows and automations that enhance efficiency and data accuracy across the finance tech stack.

Audit, Controls & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors (U.S. and UK); manage annual audits and statutory reporting.
  • Develop and maintain a strong internal control framework.
  • Drive readiness for SOX compliance, if applicable.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including both public accounting and controllership roles.
  • 5+ years leading accounting teams in a SaaS or technology company.
  • Strong knowledge of M&A accounting, ASC 606, and private equity-backed operational environments.
  • Proven success in reducing the monthly close timeline and implementing scalable processes.
  • Direct experience with:
    • UK VAT and U.S. sales tax
    • FX translation and multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations
    • Managing international teams, including UK-based accounting staff preferred
  • Experience with accounting and billing systems like Xero, Maxio, and Salesforce.

Preferred:

  • Experience leading a migration from Xero to a mid-market or enterprise ERP (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct).
  • Familiarity with UK GAAP/FRS 102, UK corporate tax rules, and UK statutory audit requirements.
  • Experience operating in a private equity environment and partnering with PE-backed board stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of financial planning systems (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and tax engines (e.g., Avalara).

Competencies

  • Strategic thinker with deep operational finance expertise and strong analytical skills.
  • Collaborative and communicative leader capable of managing cross-border teams.
  • Change agent with a bias for action and a passion for process improvement.
  • Able to thrive in a high-growth, evolving environment with shifting priorities.

Why Join MirrorWeb

  • Help shape the future of compliance technology in a mission-driven SaaS company.
  • Lead the financial foundation of a global, private equity-backed business.
  • Partner with a forward-thinking leadership team and drive transformation.
