Job Description:

   

HPE is hiring a strategic, senior finance leader to run our central Corporate FP&A organization and restore enterprise forecast credibility. This role is a key business partner to the CFO organization, responsible for short‑term and long‑range planning, executive and board reporting, and leading a team of ~60 finance professionals. You will drive a transformation to driver‑based planning, automation, and advanced analytics (Anaplan, AI/ML), and deliver clear, decision‑oriented financial narratives to executive leadership.

This is a high‑impact role at the center of financial decision‑making that offers the opportunity to lead a major transformation in planning and forecasting, work closely with C‑suite and Board stakeholders, and build a best‑in‑class FP&A organization.

The preferred location for this role is Houston, TX but we are open to other options for the right candidate

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own enterprise forecasting and planning processes (weekly, monthly, quarterly, long‑range) and deliver a credible first‑pass forecast.

  • Build and scale driver‑based models across the organization and improve forecasting accuracy.

  • Lead executive‑level financial narratives for earnings, ELT, and board reporting.

  • Serve as a senior finance business partner to BU CFOs, Controllership, Investor Relations, and other stakeholders; align assumptions and ensure transparency.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing FP&A team (approximately 60 direct/indirect reports).

  • Drive FP&A transformation: automation, process improvement, and application of machine learning and other analytic techniques to improve insights and reduce manual effort.

What Success Looks Like in Year 1

  • Forecast credibility is restored and consistently trusted by executive leadership.

  • Wide adoption of driver‑based models and clear, decision‑oriented executive narratives supporting major business decisions.

Experience and Skills

  • Proven track record leading FP&A teams in a large company with multiple business units and corporate functions.

  • Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience influencing and partnering with senior leaders and Board/CFO‑level stakeholders.

  • Solid background with implementing driver‑based planning, forecasting tools (Anaplan preferred), and analytics/automation initiatives.

  • Exceptional project management, stakeholder management, and change leadership capabilities.

  • Experience with machine learning or advanced analytics applied to forecasting is an advantage.
