The VP of Marketing will lead and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, oversee demand generation, and utilize AI to drive growth and efficiency.
ABOUT US
Right Side Up is a collective of premium marketing talent—with all of the marketing chops, and none of the agency fluff. We’re trusted by the most buzzed-about early-stage ventures, the fastest growing tech companies, and well-established Fortune 500 teams to do one thing better: GROWTH.
Some of our clients include Robinhood, Yahoo!, Reddit, Waymo, Gusto, Boulevard, Coinbase, Doordash, and many others.
THE ROLE
As VP of Marketing you’ll evolve Right Side Up’s marketing strategy and oversee its execution end-to-end, including: sales enablement, demand generation, lifecycle, brand and positioning, partnerships, and marketing operations. You have experience working in companies with strong sales led GTM motions, where growth comes as much from trust, proof, relationships, and enablement as from inbound demand. You will work deeply with Sales leadership to improve how Right Side Up positions, proposes, and wins, not just how it generates leads. You’ll bring an experienced perspective on best-in-class use of AI in marketing today, using your expertise to build and improve real systems—faster content production, smarter targeting, better measurement, and stronger pipeline performance. We operate as player-coaches: you’ll set the vision, build the plan, and manage your team to deliver results. Though this is a leadership role, you will be expected to spend some of your time executing key initiatives, especially when the team lacks needed expertise and/or the team is temporarily capacity-constrained.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full marketing funnel strategy, execution, and measurement across awareness → lead acquisition → conversion → retention → advocacy.
- Own marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline, including lead quality and lead delivery performance, operating against clearly defined SLAs with Sales.
- Drive demand gen/lifecycle performance across all marketing channels (paid media, organic/SEO/GEO, email nurture, webinars/events, partnerships, etc.).
- Identify opportunities for “AI leverage” across the customer journey (web, email, paid, SEO, partnerships, outbound enablement) and internal marketing efforts to increase speed, efficiency, and effectiveness without sacrificing quality.
- Operate and optimize a measurement framework that connects marketing investments, pipeline, and revenue, with high integrity and leadership buy in.
- Maintain and expand a robust portfolio of sales collateral, presentation templates, case studies, email sequences, and timely marketing insights.
- Define and maintain the ideal customer profile, lead qualification standards, and lead handoff SLAs in close partnership with Sales and leadership team(s).
- Own marketing tech stack strategy (HubSpot and related tools), attribution approach, and reporting cadence.
- Develop co-marketing plans with aligned partners and marketing influencers.
- Manage a lean internal team spanning demand gen, lifecycle, content, events/partnerships, etc.
- Foster a culture that ruthlessly pursues ROI and growth, with transparency, tenacity, and collaboration.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, with 5+ years leading teams overseeing a diversified channel/marketing mix.
- Experience in a sales led go-to-market motion with a company that sells human-driven services (vs. software or products).
- Experience providing internal marketing services and planning for vertical leaders who demand marketing for their particular segment of the overall business (e.g. General Managers, Category Managers, Brand Managers).
- Demonstrated success leading full-funnel marketing efforts that exceed pipeline targets using a variety of tactics, including paid advertising, content, webinars, IRL events, and influencers.
- Experience identifying, testing, and operationalizing new channels through experimentation, with a bias toward measurable ROI and repeatable performance.
- Ability to design and implement repeatable frameworks, processes, and KPIs that drive accountability and increasing efficiency.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills; able to represent Right Side Up in front of C-suite leaders, investor partners, at industry events, and through speaking engagements.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-growth, and entrepreneurial environment.
