ABOUT SHAPELY
Shapely is transforming the weight loss industry through an innovative physician-led approach that makes weight loss care affordable for everyone. With evidence-based care, industry-leading support, and a seamless integrated app, we help thousands of patients across California, Florida, New York, and Texas access GLP-1 therapies and comprehensive weight management — all covered by insurance. We’re pioneering a new approach that helps patients achieve long-lasting, sustainable results.
We’re at an inflection point. Our patient base is scaling fast, our clinical and operational complexity is growing, and we need a world-class operator to help us build the infrastructure for the next phase of growth. Join us in shaping a company that will help improve the most important thing in all of our lives: our health.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for a VP of Operations (with a path to COO) to serve as the operational backbone of Shapely. You’ll report directly to the CEO and own the systems, processes, and teams that keep the business running — and that enable us to scale without breaking.
Your primary focus will be leading our patient support team and coordinating the operational logistics that keep our clinical engine running — from pharmacy coordination to patient onboarding to cross-functional execution across the company.
This is not a strategy-only role. You will get your hands dirty. You’ll be listening to patient support calls, coordinating with pharmacy partners, redesigning processes in our CRM, and building the operational playbooks that let us grow from thousands of patients to tens of thousands. You’ll also be a key thought partner to the CEO on company-wide priorities, resource allocation, and organizational design.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
Patient Support Operations (Primary) — This is the heart of the role. You’ll directly manage and elevate our patient support team: set and enforce quality standards, reduce response times, build scalable workflows for patient inquiries, onboarding, and retention, and ensure every patient interaction reflects the level of care we stand for.
Operational Coordination & Logistics — Serve as the connective tissue across clinical, growth, product, and operations. Coordinate pharmacy partnerships, manage vendor relationships, run the operating cadence (team meetings, OKRs, project tracking), and ensure nothing falls through the cracks as we scale.
Process Design & Automation — Identify bottlenecks, design efficient workflows, and partner with our technology team to automate what can be automated. You should be excited to learn and optimize operational systems.
Billing & Revenue Cycle Oversight — Our billing workflows are largely automated, but you’ll ensure the system stays healthy: monitor denial trends, coordinate with our billing manager on exceptions, and partner with finance on revenue recognition and payer-related issues.
Finance & Analytics Coordination — Work closely with finance and analytics leads to ensure operational decisions are data-driven and that reporting cadences keep leadership informed.
HR & People Operations Partnership — Collaborate closely with our HR lead on recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and team culture. Bring strategic thinking to people operations — headcount planning, compensation frameworks, and organizational design.
Requirements
WHO YOU ARE
Exceptional problem solver. You break down ambiguous, messy operational challenges into structured plans and execute relentlessly. You ask the right questions before jumping to solutions.
Proven operator. You’ve built or scaled operational functions at a high-growth company. You know what good looks like for support, billing, and people ops — and you know how to get there from scrappy beginnings.
Top-tier analytical background. We strongly prefer alumni of McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or equivalent tier-one consulting firms. The structured thinking, pattern recognition, and intensity these environments develop is exactly what this role demands.
A leader people want to follow. You’ll manage a growing team across support and operations. You set high standards, give direct feedback, and create an environment where people do their best work.
Relentlessly organized. You run tight processes, maintain clear accountability, and never let things slip. You build systems so that operational excellence isn’t dependent on heroics.
Curious and fast-learning. Healthcare is complex. You may not have a healthcare background, and that’s fine — but you need the intellectual curiosity and speed to learn payer dynamics, compliance requirements, and clinical workflows quickly.
Hands-on and ego-free. At a company our size, the VP of Ops also takes notes, updates the CRM, and jumps on a patient escalation call. You find energy in the details, not just the strategy.
NICE TO HAVE
Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or digital health operations.
Familiarity with medical billing, revenue cycle management, or payer contracting.
Prior experience working in or with US-based companies from Argentina/Latin America.
MBA or advanced degree from a top-tier institution.
WHY SHAPELY
High-impact role at a company that’s genuinely helping people transform their health — covered by their insurance, not out of pocket.
Direct partnership with a technical, hands-on founder-CEO who will invest in your growth.
Join at an inflection point where your work directly shapes the trajectory of the company.
Competitive compensation ($120–160K USD base + performance bonus).
Collaborative, high-caliber executive team already based in Argentina.
