As the Revenue Operations Leader at Outside Inc, you will play a key role in driving the strategic alignment of the organization towards revenue-generation, with a focus on maximizing the potential of our first-party data, ad operations, and programmatic advertising solutions. You will oversee the optimization of data flows, streamline advertising operations, and help execute programmatic campaigns that enhance yield and ROI across our portfolio of digital products.

You’ll collaborate closely with sales, marketing, analytics, and product teams to ensure we are leveraging our data efficiently and effectively while driving revenue growth across our digital media channels. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual with a strong understanding of digital advertising, data strategies, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

First-Party Data Strategy & Management:

  • Develop and execute the first-party data strategy to support advertising and monetization goals.
  • Ensure the efficient collection, segmentation, and activation of first-party data across digital channels including .com, utilities and apps.
  • Work with analytics and product teams to develop actionable insights from first-party data to optimize ad targeting, personalization, and audience segmentation.
  • Oversee the implementation of data management platforms (DMPs) and customer data platforms (CDPs) to integrate data sources and improve data hygiene, accuracy, and accessibility.

Ad Operations Management:

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of ad operations across direct, programmatic, and network channels.
  • Collaborate with sales, creative, and account management teams to ensure seamless campaign setup, trafficking, and delivery.
  • Monitor campaign performance, providing real-time insights and troubleshooting issues as they arise to ensure optimal delivery and performance.
  • Ensure all digital campaigns are executed in compliance with company policies, privacy regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Programmatic Strategy & Optimization:

  • Oversee programmatic buying strategies, including real-time bidding (RTB), managed services, and private marketplace deals (PMPs).
  • Manage relationships with demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), data providers, and other key programmatic partners to drive performance.
  • Collaborate with the data and analytics teams to monitor, optimize, and report on programmatic campaign performance.
  • Implement best practices for programmatic targeting, bidding strategies, and creative optimizations to maximize revenue and return on ad spend (ROAS).

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting:

  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align on revenue goals, pricing models, and campaign execution strategies.
  • Provide actionable insights and reporting to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to inform decision-making and drive revenue performance.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting systems to track key performance indicators (KPIs), including yield, CPM, ROI, and other metrics to assess and optimize performance.

Process Optimization & Automation:

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline ad ops workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead the charge in defining and documenting best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure scalability and consistency.
  • Drive continuous improvement in revenue operations processes to increase efficiency and reduce friction across teams.

Industry Trends & Technology Leadership:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in digital media, programmatic advertising, and first-party data strategies.
  • Recommend new tools, technologies, and approaches that will help optimize ad ops and revenue generation.
  • Advocate for and educate internal teams on emerging technologies, ad products, and industry shifts.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of 1p data strategies and data management platforms (DMPs, CDPs).
  • Proven track record of managing programmatic ad campaigns, DSP/SSP integrations, and optimizing ad monetization strategies.
  • Experience working with consumer utilities or apps is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with ad serving platforms (e.g., Google Ad Manager, OpenX, AdButler).
  • Expertise in programmatic advertising platforms (e.g., The Trade Desk, Xandr, MediaMath).
  • Proficiency with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Google Analytics, Excel).
  • Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Airtable, Asana) is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills with a keen ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue and achieving KPIs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

What We Offer:

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $140,000 to $175,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away,  sick leave, and more.  This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
