Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Manager of Web Development to lead a team responsible for building and maintaining web and application solutions that support a global digital presence. This is a hands-on leadership role within a collaborative environment made up of developers, designers, and technical specialists focused on delivering high-impact digital products.

- Lead and manage a team of web developers, contractors, and external partners
- Assess team members’ technical strengths, communication styles, and career goals to optimize performance and collaboration
- Allocate resources across projects based on skillsets, timelines, and overall team capacity
- Oversee daily support requests, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Coordinate work with external vendors, including scoping, prioritization, and testing
- Partner with developers to define project scope, timelines, and technical requirements
- Support project planning to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and best practices
- Manage hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and professional development for team members
- Facilitate regular one-on-one and team meetings
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across team processes, tools, and output
- Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Establish and maintain development standards, documentation, and operating procedures
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
- Research and introduce new technologies and solutions to enhance systems and processes
- Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams on hosting, deployments, and system maintenance
- Ensure ongoing maintenance of web platforms and integrated systems
- Act as an escalation point for critical technical issues, including occasional after-hours needs
- Prepare regular reporting on team output and project status
- Assist with software/vendor selection and contract review processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in web development or related technical roles
- 2+ years of direct leadership or team management experience
- Strong experience with web technologies such as WordPress, PHP, JavaScript frameworks, REST APIs, and CDNs
- Experience with cloud-based environments and modern deployment practices (e.g., Azure, Docker, CI/CD pipelines)
- Familiarity with monitoring, infrastructure, or provisioning tools is preferred
- Exposure to analytics platforms, CRM systems, and third-party integrations is a plus
- Understanding of accessibility, performance optimization, and responsive design best practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong project management, organizational, and analytical abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to occasionally travel, as needed
