West Coast Billing Associate 

Full-Time, Remote / Hourly, Non-Exempt / Includes Benefits, PTO, Equity


We are looking for a Billing Associate to join our Winning Team, which is revolutionizing the court reporting industry every single day. We’re a diverse team from all over the country (and beyond) and we’re crazy about redefining the boundaries of an outdated industry. This role requires someone who resides in the Pacific Standard timezone and can cover Monday through Friday 9:30am to 6:00pm PST.


Who are you? 


As Steno’s Billing Associate, you will handle more complex billing processes, including firm and provider billing discrepancies, escalations, and workflow improvements. You’ll work closely with internal teams to optimize billing operations.

This role is ideal for someone with advanced billing experience who thrives in problem-solving and process optimizations.

On a regular basis, you’ll:

  • Manage complex billing issues and escalations.
  • Review and process invoices with precision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine billing workflows.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve efficiency.
  • Resolve Billing Discrepancies: Identify and correct inconsistencies between order requests, provider rates and billing information.
  • Monitor & Respond to Billing Requests: Actively track Slack channels for complex billing-related inquiries, providing timely resolutions.

You’re gonna crush it if:

  • You have 2+ years of high-volume billing and invoicing experience, including handling billing disputes. Court reporter billing experience is a plus! 
  • You excel at problem-solving and process improvement.
  • You can effectively manage escalations and communicate.
  • You are proficient in Mac and PC and master new systems quickly; Google Workspace, Slack, and Zendesk experience is preferred.
  • You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable wearing multiple hats.
  • You have a customer-first mindset, ensuring timely and accurate billing while maintaining positive client relationships.
