Tecovas was founded with the simple goal of making the world's best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike.

Tecovas is looking for a Wholesale Planner to sit at the intersection of data and strategy - partnering closely with the Wholesale Sales Team and Leadership to make smart, forward-looking decisions that keep our wholesale business healthy and our retail partners successful. Reporting directly to the Wholesale Planning Manager, you will play a critical role in driving inventory optimization, sales forecasting, and business growth across our wholesale business. A key part of this role will be building innovative customer and merchandise-level reporting, leveraging AI tools to surface insights faster and more effectively than ever before.

This role is required to be based in Austin, TX. Candidates must either be currently located in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX.

What you’ll do:

  • Category & Item Forecasting
    • Develop and maintain demand forecasts at the assigned category and item level, ensuring alignment with wholesale business goals and financial targets.
    • Build pre-season plans - both tops-down and bottoms-up - covering sales, inventory, markdowns/sell-out plans, and SKU productivity in collaboration with Wholesale Planning Leadership.
    • Monitor weekly business trends (actual vs. forecasted sales, sell-through, channel performance, seasonality) to identify risks and opportunities and propose actionable strategies.
  • Customer & Merchandise Reporting
    • Build and maintain customer-level and merchandise-level reporting to track wholesale account performance, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making.
    • Leverage AI tools to develop scalable, efficient reporting solutions that surface insights quickly and drive smarter planning conversations.
    • Analyze and present weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts and results, collaborating with cross-functional teams on actionable takeaways to drive positive change or mitigate risks.
    • Lead monthly Open to Buy for assigned categories, incorporating current trends and future expectations to hit sales, inventory, and turn goals.
    • Build ad hoc reporting and tools as needed to support strategic business decisions.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels across assigned categories to maintain a healthy stock position, monitoring BOP/EOP inventory, sell-through, and inventory turn on a regular cadence.
    • Effectively communicate inventory positions across teams, proactively calling out out-of-stock risks, overstock exposure, and actionable mitigation strategies.
    • Own all wholesale PO entry and system management, including orders initiated by Wholesale Planning Leadership, serving as the day-to-day operational and data owner for the team.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership & Process Improvement
    • Support Wholesale Planning Leadership and Senior Planners in managing their assigned categories through data analysis, insights, and operational assistance.
    • Participate in quarterly and seasonal hindsight processes - including fiscal and seasonal reviews - to inform future wholesale planning.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance processes and workflows, including new system implementations and ERP/demand planning upgrades.

Experience we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in planning, inventory management, or buying - ideally in wholesale, apparel, or accessories
  • Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with planning tools, ERP systems, or AI-powered analytics tools is a plus
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to grow into expanded responsibilities as the role and business evolve
  • Ability to travel up to twice a year

What you bring to the table:

  • You're a natural business partner - collaborative, communicative, and excited to work cross-functionally across the company
  • You have a strong curiosity for tackling complex business problems; you know how to dive into the data, find the meaning, and turn it into decisions that drive results
  • You're energized by using AI and emerging tools to build smarter, faster reporting that makes a real impact on the business
  • You're a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, and work independently when needed
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring strong problem-solving skills to every challenge
  • You're passionate about retail and motivated by supporting the growth of a customer-centric brand
  • You lead with kindness, transparency, and integrity in everything you do

Full Time Benefits & Perks:

  • We offer insurance plans that pay 79-90% of your health premium coverage and 100% of your dental & vision insurance coverage for your family/dependents
  • 401(k) match
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Flexible PTO policy
  • Corporate wellness program
  • Competitive salary: $80,000-90,000/annum (commensurate with experience)
  • Eligibility to participate in Corporate Bonus Program
  • Generous employee discounts!
