Job Description

The Work Study Receptionist assists with being the first point of contact for the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts Dean’s Office, providing professional, courteous, and efficient front desk support. This role assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors while supporting daily office operations through administrative and clerical tasks.

  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls
  • Respond to general inquiries and direct visitors
  • Assist with front desk operations, including monitoring foot traffic and office communications
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and taking messages
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries
  • Perform basic clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, copying, and scanning documents
  • Maintain organized and clean reception and common areas
  • Assist with special projects and events coordinated by the Dean’s Office
  • Uphold confidentiality of sensitive student and institutional information
  • Hourly rate $7.25
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled student at East Texas A&M University
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study program
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, and scheduling tools)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience
