Find Help raises $16M to connect users with public services

Nationwide, there are thousands of free or low-cost programs that can help people find housing, job training, health services and more. Yet, many of these programs find themselves wrapped up in bureaucratic layers that leave them difficult to find and access.

Austin-based Find Help has created a central destination for discovering and applying for these programs. Today, the company announced it had secured $16 million in Series C funding to further its goal of helping those who need it most.

Find Help was founded in 2010 by CEO Erine Gray. As Gray worked to help his mother through a brain cancer diagnosis, he was taken aback by the sheer difficulty of finding and applying to available treatments.

Just under a decade later, Find Help is a flourishing hub for finding and applying to a range of social services across the country.

Gone are the days of digging through confusing government websites; one need only plug in their ZIP code into the Find Help website to access a streamlined portal of information, as more than two million users already have.

“Our customers are connecting the people they serve to food, housing, education and other programs using our nationwide Social Care Network. When people’s basic needs are met, they are less likely to consume unnecessary healthcare services, which improves healthcare organizations’ bottom lines and ultimately overall health outcomes,” CEO Gray said in a statement.

To date, Find Help has raised $22 million in funding. Noro-Moseley Partners led Tuesday’s round, with participation also coming from Capital Factory, Digitalis Ventures, Techstars Impact and Techstars Ventures.

“We have spent a lot of time researching this space with the help of our strategic partners, and we believe Find Help is the leading platform in the market today,” said Spence McClelland, partner at Noro-Moseley Partners, in a statement.

The company’s recent influx of funds is its largest to date, and will be used to build out its internal operations.

“If you or someone you know is looking to join a team working on very difficult, but solvable problems, we want to talk to you,” said Gray, adding that the company is looking to fill roles in sales, engineering and product.

Marketing Manager Nyein Sein added that a “mission mindset” is the first requirement for anyone looking to join the Find Help team. In addition, they said, “folks who can demonstrate that they're creative problem solvers, can take initiative, and can work across teams really stand out.”
