4 Austin tech companies make this year's Fast 500 list

Deloitte released its annual Fast 500 list, recognizing 500 companies across North America that exemplify innovation, entrepreneurship and rapid growth in technology. This year, 17 Texas tech companies made the list, with four hailing from Austin. Take a look to see who made the cut.

With a reported 2,145 percent increase in growth between 2013 and 2016, Digital Turbine clocked in as the highest ranking Austin tech company on the list at the 74th spot. The company develops app advertising software that supports clients like Verizon, Vodofone, Uber, Pandora and Sony. Digital Turbine launched in 2011 and ranked on last year’s Fast 500 list at No. 249.

Founded in 1996, Xplore Technologies makes a line of tablets that can weather harsh climate conditions. Xplore claimed the 348th spot on this year’s Fast 500. The company recently made headlines when it parted ways with its CEO of six months, Mark Holleran. Xplore’s CFO Tom Wilkinson now serves as CEO.

Up 14 spots from last year’s list, SailPoint came in this year at No. 434, reporting 178 percent growth. The company began talks of an IPO in February and officially filed for its initial offering of $100 million in October. Last week, SailPoint raised its proposed initial offering to $253 million after setting its share price and the number of shares to be offered. This IPO would mark the first from Austin tech since 2014.

With a 164 percent growth increase over a three-year window, Q2 claimed the 455th spot in 2017. Led by CEO Matt Flake, the company creates secure, cloud-based banking solutions for financial institutions. Q2 also just reported its third quarter numbers which included a 31 percent year-over-year increase in revenue.
