The Client Services team is responsible for managing and growing strategic channel partner relationships across the healthcare ecosystem. Our team serves as the primary point of contact for partners, helping them maximize the value of their relationship with Optum while driving revenue growth, operational excellence, and partner satisfaction.
We work across the organization, partnering closely with Product, Sales, Operations, Support, IT, Finance, and Leadership teams to ensure our partners are successful and positioned for long-term growth. The team plays a critical role in retaining existing business, expanding product adoption, resolving issues, and identifying new opportunities that benefit both the partner and Optum.
The Client Services Manager serves as the strategic business lead for a portfolio of complex healthcare channel partners. This individual is responsible for building executive-level relationships, driving partner satisfaction, retaining, and growing revenue, identifying expansion opportunities, and coordinating operational support across the Optum enterprise.
This role balances relationship management, growth strategy, and operational oversight, acting as both a trusted advisor to partners and an internal advocate to ensure successful outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of strategic healthcare partner relationships, ensuring partner success, satisfaction, and business growth
- Develop and execute revenue retention and growth strategies for assigned partners
- Consult with partner leadership to understand business objectives and align Optum solutions to support their goals
- Build and maintain relationships across partner organizations, including Director, VP, and C-suite stakeholders
- Lead business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and ongoing partner engagement activities
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Product, Sales, Operations, Support, Finance, and IT to deliver a strong partner experience
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues impacting partner relationships
- Support contract renewals, operational contract changes, onboarding activities, and product adoption efforts
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting within Salesforce and other corporate systems

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of customer-facing account management or client management experience within the healthcare industry
- Experience presenting to and engaging with senior leaders and executives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, and virtual meeting platforms
- Demonstrated success managing complex customer or partner relationships
- Proven ability to drive revenue retention, growth initiatives, and operational improvements
- Proven solid organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Proven effective problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities
- Proven ability and willingness to travel up to 25% as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing channel partnerships, reseller relationships, or strategic healthcare alliances
- Experience conducting executive business reviews and strategic account planning
- Experience leading contract renewals, growth initiatives, and cross-functional projects
- Knowledge of healthcare technology, revenue cycle management, claims processing, or healthcare data exchange solutions
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes across complex organizations without direct authority
- Proven solid commercial acumen with the ability to identify customer needs and align solutions to business outcomes
