Waste Connections is searching for an Account Payable/Account Receivable Clerk to join our team in South Austin, TX! 

 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to interact with varying levels of employees and vendors, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and is willing to provide support in accounting. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coverage & Support: Temporarily fill in for absent accounting staff
  • Transactional Processing: Execute day-to-day accounting duties, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), Collections.
  • Adaptation: Quickly learn new operational workflows, software programs, and departmental procedures as assignments rotate
  • Experience: Typically 1–3+ years of general bookkeeping or staff accounting experience.
  • Software Proficiency: Microsoft Excel.
  • Flexibility & Problem Solving: High tolerance for shifting priorities and the ability to seamlessly resolve complex accounting discrepancies.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to collaborate with multiple, varied teams and management

 

 Job Requirements:

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking skills.
  •          Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team setting.
  •          Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  •          3+ year of Accounts Payable experience.
  •          Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word is a must).
  •          10-Key knowledge and skills
  •          High school diploma or equivalent
