Manage revenue accounting for Meetings & Events, ensuring ASC 606 and US GAAP compliance. We are seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to join our revenue accounting team in our Dallas office to support our Meetings & Events product. In this role, you will perform technical accounting analysis to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP while managing internal and external audit requests. As a key contributor, you will drive process improvements, manage large amounts of financial data, and collaborate cross-functionally to challenge the status quo. This position offers an exciting opportunity to directly support Navan’s growth and global financial scaling efforts.
What You’ll Do
- Perform contract review to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and prepare related revenue schedules for complex transactions.
- Drive process improvements and automations within the revenue recognition cycle to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Partner with event planners, deal desk, and order-to-cash teams to ensure all contracts are accurately processed and accounted for.
- Own journal entries and accounting reconciliations within the revenue close cycle.
- Prepare and review revenue-related footnote disclosure schedules for external financial reporting (10-Q/10-K).
- Support external and internal audits by providing documentation, analysis, and explanations of revenue-related transactions.
- Maintain internal controls related to the revenue cycle to ensure robust SOX compliance.
- Provide revenue reporting and analysis to senior leadership and stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making across Navan.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally to the UK and EU.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting with a strong, in-depth exposure to ASC 606 and US GAAP.
- CPA license is strongly preferred.
- Experience building, documenting, and operating SOX-compliant processes.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite or analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
