Agency Success Lead

Company: Adaptive Insurance

Reports to: Head of Growth & Business Development

Location: Austin (Bee Cave), TX

Job Type: Full time

About Adaptive

We are pioneering climate resilience by harnessing AI, data, technology, and insurance to help our customers analyze, act, and adapt to emerging risks. We're starting with specialty insurance solutions like GridProtect, our parametric power outage coverage for short-duration outages, and Deductible Buy-Back, supplemental coverage for commercial and residential clients with high exposure to wind and hail deductible risk. About the Role

Adaptive is looking for an Agency Success Lead who is energized by building relationships, helping others win, and serving as a connective bridge between our appointed agents and our internal team. This is a highly visible role that sits at the heart of our distribution strategy.

You will own the success of Adaptive's appointed agent base — making sure every agent we work with has what they need to write business, feel supported, and grow with us over time. That means being the first voice they hear when they call, and the proactive voice that reaches out before they have to. Equally important, you will bring the agent's perspective inside the building: their questions, their friction points, and their feedback should shape how we operate and what we build. If you love cultivating relationships, solving problems quickly, and turning agent activity into real results, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Agent Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Adaptive's appointed agents, building trust-based relationships that keep them engaged, informed, and producing

  • Manage a proactive outbound call cadence to check in with agents, share product updates, surface opportunities, and identify and resolve issues before they escalate

  • Handle inbound agent calls with urgency and care — answering questions on products, submissions, underwriting, commissions, and processes

  • Define success metrics for your agent book and track progress against retention, engagement, and production goals

Voice of the Agent

  • Serve as the internal champion for our agents, bringing their outside-in perspectives into product, operations, and leadership conversations

  • Synthesize agent feedback into clear, actionable insights that inform how we operate and go to market

  • Identify patterns across the agent base that surface opportunities to improve the agent experience or grow production

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with underwriting, operations, and the partnerships team to resolve agent issues quickly and effectively

  • Collaborate on the development of agent-facing materials, communications, and enablement resources that help agents understand and sell our products

  • Support go-to-market initiatives as directed by the Head of Growth & Partnerships

What We're Looking For

  • Relationship-first mentality: you build trust quickly, communicate with warmth and clarity, and know how to make people feel genuinely supported

  • Strong communicator: you're comfortable on the phone, confident in writing, and consistent in follow-through

  • Organized and accountable: you track commitments, close loops, and don't let things fall through the cracks

  • Curious and insight-driven: you listen closely to agents and translate what you hear into meaningful input for the business

  • Comfortable with ambiguity: you thrive in an early-stage environment where processes are still being built and no two days look the same

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing, account management, or support role preferred — insurance background a plus but not required

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in insurance, insurtech, or financial services

  • Familiarity with independent agents, brokers, or distribution channels

  • Background in customer success, inside sales, or relationship management

  • Exposure to an early-stage startup environment

You'll Excel in This Role Because…

  • You're energized by people: building and maintaining relationships is something you do naturally and love

  • You think like an owner: you care about outcomes, not just activity, and hold yourself accountable to the results of your agent book

  • You're a connector: you see how agent feedback should connect to product decisions, operations, and strategy — and you make that happen

  • You're scrappy and resourceful: you get things done with the resources available and don't wait for perfect conditions

  • You represent us well: you show up prepared, professional, and genuinely enthusiastic about what Adaptive is building

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and equity: you'll have a real stake in what we're building

  • Direct impact: the relationships you build and the insights you bring in will directly shape our products and our growth

  • Learning and growth: exposure to all aspects of building a business, from distribution strategy to product development

  • Autonomy and ownership: we hire smart people and trust them to do great work

  • Additional benefits: 401(k), company-paid health benefits, and PTO

Adaptive is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone on our team.
