Leidos is seeking a full time Agile Scrum Master to help support the Catena software project. The project currently operates as a focused team of developers in an Agile software development lifecycle.

The successful candidate will be a qualified experienced Scrum Master with experience of carrying out a variety of roles within the agile development lifecycle, including working within challenging timescales. This position is on a remote geographically dispersed team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates meetings – Facilitates all team meetings, including (where applicable) the Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective.
  • Leads the organization and change agent for Agile techniques, processes, and principles.
  • Helps the other team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate; with the goal of assisting the team meet their Iteration Objectives.
  • Supports and reinforces the team rules.
  • Facilitates the team’s progress toward team goals.  Continuously engaged in challenging the team to improve performance, quality, predictability, and velocity.
  • Leads team efforts in relentless improvement – Helps the team improve and take responsibility for their actions; facilitates the team retrospective.  Teaches problem solving techniques and helps the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.
  • Supports the Product Owner – The Scrum Master helps the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
  • Eliminates impediments – Many blocking issues will be beyond the team’s authority or may require support from other teams. The Scrum Master actively addresses these issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the Iteration.
  • Protects and communicates – Communicates with management and outside stakeholders; helps protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work.
  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Masters with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience, trainings, or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM, PSM, and SSM).
  • Proven experience serving as a Scrum Master on software delivery initiatives
  • Expertise in asset and knowledge discovery, contributing to the development of knowledge articles.
  • Skilled in facilitating core SCRUM ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Strong understanding of sprint performance metrics and evaluation techniques.
  • Collaborative experience partnering with Product Owners to identify, prioritize, and execute backlog items.
  • Demonstrated success working across distributed Scrum teams in both virtual and on-site environments.
  • Adept at coaching team members on agile best practices and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Willingness to travel to Leidos and customer locations as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders across multiple sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with software product development, from concept through delivery.
  • Certified in SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) methodologies.
  • Proven leadership of Agile development teams with a strong track record as a Scrum Master.
  • Expertise in end-to-end DevOps implementation for integration, development, testing, deployment, and system operations.
  • Skilled in translating business requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria within Agile teams.
  • Ability to navigate both technical and business domains, facilitating conversations across diverse stakeholders.
  • Committed to staying informed on trends in GIS, software development, defense/intelligence industries, and competitor technologies.
  • Proficient in Agile development tools including JIRA and Confluence.
  • Familiar with SAFe frameworks and practices.
  • Experienced with source control management tools, particularly GIT.

Pay Range:Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
