Remote · Independent contractor (1099) · Built for college students and anyone starting in tech sales

Represent companies like FreshBooks, Squire and Baton, learn the phone skills AI can't replace, and get paid while you do it, on your own schedule.

At Sellfire, our mission is to help the next generation of sales professionals build great sales careers in a world of AI. This role is where that starts.

What you'll do

  • Make live outbound calls for fast-growing B2B tech companies, reaching gatekeepers and decision-makers

  • Use Sellfire's AI-enabled platform. It handles lead lists, call prep, dialing and coaching insights, so your time goes into real conversations

  • Book qualified meetings for our customers' sales teams

  • Get call-by-call feedback and coaching from Logic-Based Selling, our proven calling methodology

Why this beats a typical side job

  • Earn real money. You're paid for results: Commission for every qualified meeting that you set that the prospect attends. The better you get, the more you make.

  • Control your hours. Work around your classes during US business hours. No shifts and no minimum schedule.

  • Choose your accounts. Pick which customer programs you call for.

  • Work with brands that are going places. You'll call on behalf of fast-growing companies like FreshBooks, Squire, OnRamp Funds, Edge, Pocketflows, Mia and Baton. That's real experience with venture-backed startups and brands hiring managers recognize.

  • Build a résumé recruiters notice. Entry-level SDR roles are among the most common first jobs in tech sales, and they usually ask for experience you can't get in a classroom. You'll graduate with real numbers like dials, connects and meetings booked.

  • Train like a pro before you dial. Learn through short video lessons, test what you know with quizzes, and practice live calls with AI prospects that act like real gatekeepers and decision-makers.

Your first step on the sales career ladder

In tech, the SDR (sales development rep) role is the most common way into sales. Many of today's top account executives, sales leaders and founders started there. A typical path looks like this:

  • SDR / BDR. Open conversations, qualify prospects and book meetings. This is where you start.

  • Account Executive. Run demos, manage deals and close revenue, often after a year or two as an SDR.

  • Senior AE, Sales Manager or Sales Leader. Bigger deals, a team of your own, or a seat in leadership.

The hardest part is getting that first SDR job without experience. This role gives you the opportunity to learn and gain experience before you graduate.

Why build a career in sales

  • High earning potential. Sales pay is tied directly to results, so strong performers can out-earn their peers early in their careers.

  • Fast, merit-based growth. Your numbers speak for themselves, so promotions come from performance, not tenure.

  • Skills that transfer anywhere. Persuasion, listening, resilience and handling objections help in any job, or in starting your own company.

  • Demand in every industry. Every company needs revenue, so good salespeople are needed everywhere.

  • A path to leadership and entrepreneurship. Many founders and executives got their start in sales.

  • Skills AI can't easily replace. As AI takes over routine work, the ability to build trust in a live conversation becomes more valuable.

Who we're looking for

  • Current college student or recent grad in Texas

  • Sales professionals looking to refine their skills and make extra money

  • Anyone looking to start their sales career

  • Competitive, coachable, and comfortable hearing "no"

  • Clear, confident speaker

  • A quiet place to work, a reliable computer, a headset, and stable internet (you'll pass a short equipment check)

About the contractor role

This is an independent contractor (1099) position, not employment with Sellfire. As a contractor:

  • You set your own hours during US business hours and decide how much you work

  • You provide and maintain your own equipment

  • You choose which customer programs to work on

  • You're paid 100% commission for results, not hourly, and you're responsible for your own taxes

  • You don't receive employee benefits such as health insurance or paid time off

The only things we require: pass screening and the equipment check, complete certification, and meet our quality standards on every call, including sticking to each customer's approved script.

How it works

  1. Apply (5 minutes)

  2. Complete a short screening and equipment check

  3. Finish Sellfire training and certification

  4. Start calling on your own schedule
