This role can be based in various offices on a hybrid basis. This role reports to the Manager, Endpoint Applications.

 

Position Summary

 

The AI Applications Specialist is responsible for evaluating, customizing, implementing, administering, and providing Tier 3 (subject matter expert) support for AI-driven productivity applications and tools across the firm, with a primary focus on Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio. This role serves as a leading technical authority on leveraging Copilot and other AI capabilities embedded within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Power Platform. A critical function of this role is the design, development, deployment, and governance of Copilot agents at both the user level within the Microsoft 365 Copilot application and at the enterprise level using Microsoft Copilot Studio. The specialist supports safe enterprise adoption of Copilot by assisting with governance controls, monitoring usage and adoption, and providing operational support for AI driven productivity tools within Microsoft 365. The specialist will also evaluate emerging AI productivity technologies including SaaS-based AI tools, and generative AI platforms to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of AI productivity tools and adoption.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as the firm's primary subject matter expert (SME) on Microsoft 365 Copilot, including deployment, configuration, licensing, adoption, and ongoing optimization across all M365 applications
  • Evaluates, deploys, manages, and supports AI-powered applications and Copilot integrations at the enterprise level
  • Designs and executes Copilot adoption strategies, including readiness assessments, pilot programs, phased rollouts, and user enablement campaigns
  • Assists in the configuration and management of Microsoft 365 Copilot settings, including sensitivity labels, data governance policies, and access controls to ensure responsible and secure AI usage
  • Monitors and analyzes Copilot usage analytics and adoption metrics using Microsoft 365 Admin Centers, Copilot management tools, Viva Insights, and related dashboards to measure ROI and identify opportunities for deeper adoption
  • Stays current on the Microsoft 365 Copilot roadmap, new feature releases, and AI industry trends, and communicates relevant changes to diverse audiences within the firm
  • Designs, builds, tests, and deploys declarative agents within Microsoft 365 Copilot to address common productivity scenarios, including agents grounded in specific SharePoint sites, files, and organizational knowledge bases
  • Implements generative AI capabilities within Copilot Studio agents, including generative answers grounded in firm knowledge sources, generative orchestration, and dynamic prompt-based interactions
  • Assists in the development of training programs, workshops, and presentations on Copilot across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, and the Power Platform, in coordination with the professional development team
  • Creates and maintains a library of optimized prompts, prompt engineering best practices, use-case playbooks, and agent design documentation tailored to various practice groups and business functions
  • Guides and empowers end users in creating their own Copilot agents, including establishing best practices, standardized templates, to ensure consistency and alignment with firm governance policies
  • Evaluates and integrates Copilot Studio plugins, connectors, and extensions, and connect agents with Power Automate cloud flows to trigger automated workflows, approvals, notifications, and data operations
  • Provides operational support and troubleshooting for Copilot-related issues, coordinates escalation to security, compliance, or engineering teams, and prepares all project documentation including user requirements, technical specifications, governance frameworks, and AI usage policies
  • Creates and delivers presentations to various audiences
  • Appears on camera for meetings with colleagues and vendors
  • Performs other duties as deemed appropriate

Qualifications

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to advise stakeholders on appropriate selection between simple M365 Copilot agents and full Copilot Studio agents, and experience with agent lifecycle management including versioning, sandbox testing, staged rollouts, and performance analytics
  • Strong understanding of generative AI concepts including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), NLP, responsible AI principles, and AI governance frameworks including ethics, bias mitigation, and organizational AI usage policies
  • Strong technical knowledge in the use, configuration, and deployment of Microsoft 365 applications and Microsoft Windows operating systems, including document creation, recovery, and management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API, Copilot for Power Platform (AI Builder, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI), and Copilot licensing models, prerequisites, and tenant-level configuration
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, JavaScript, and JSON
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data governance as they relate to AI, including Microsoft Purview, sensitivity labels, DLP, and information barriers, with a particular focus on preventing data leakage, oversharing risks, and ensuring Copilot agents surface information appropriate to user permissions
  • Ability to manage projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision, including assessing priorities and delivering solutions under deadlines with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to translate complex AI concepts into accessible language for non-technical audiences and build effective client relationships

 

Education & Prior Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years' experience in applications testing, configuration, deployment, administration, and support
  • Minimum one year of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot or equivalent enterprise AI productivity tools
  • Advanced, hands-on expertise with Microsoft 365 Copilot across the full suite of M365 applications, including deep proficiency in prompt engineering techniques such as iterative refinement, role-based prompting, and context-setting strategies to maximize output quality
  • Demonstrated experience creating declarative agents within Microsoft 365 Copilot, including configuring agent instructions, scoping knowledge sources (SharePoint, Graph connectors), defining capabilities, and publishing agents for organizational use
  • Demonstrated portfolio or documented experience building and deploying Copilot agents at both the M365 Copilot (simple/declarative) and Copilot Studio (advanced) levels
  • Microsoft Copilot Certification(s) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • AI-related certifications a plus
  • Experience creating and delivering executive-level presentations and demos showcasing AI capabilities, agent functionality, and business value
  • Experience in a legal or professional services environment preferred
