About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

The Role

We are hiring Product Engineers to work on Fluidstack’s AI-integrated software stack that enables us to build capacity faster than anyone in the industry.

You will own features at every layer of the stack from concept to outcome, no handoffs, no ticket implementation. You will identify problems, design solutions, build, ship, and measure success.

Fluidstack is flat. No middle management. Nothing in the way of shipping. Our engineers hold the highest levels of ownership in the industry. You won’t escalate, you’ll ship. You won’t ask for approval, you’ll just do things. You’ll be operating infrastructure worth billions of dollars on a timeline measured in months.

You have one goal: build the infrastructure that reduces time to compute.

What You Will Build
  • Supply chain automation: Interfaces where ordering 10,000 GPUs and all supporting components feels like opening a GitHub pull request.

  • Capacity forecasting and scheduling: systems that model build timelines, predict bottlenecks, and drive schedules across dozens of concurrent projects

  • Internal AI infrastructure: shared agent frameworks, skill libraries, and integrations with the platforms the company runs on, including project management, source control, construction software, messaging, CRM, and internal APIs, so every team at Fluidstack can build with AI, not just engineers

  • Operational automation: workflow orchestration and self-service tooling that eliminates manual toil across operations and engineering

  • Datacenter design & validation: Applications that generate, simulate, and validate AI infrastructure layouts, power topologies, and cooling configurations.

What We’re Looking For

The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code in Go, Python, or TypeScript, and the ability to work in any language, primarily using AI coding tools to move fast.

  • Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-weight models), creating and using MCP servers, and working with agentic frameworks.

  • Deep fluency with AI coding tools including Claude Code, Cursor, etc. and the ability to get agents to work autonomously alongside you.

  • Proven ability to work with high autonomy: identifying problems, designing solutions, and shipping results with minimal direction. You are a barrel, not a passenger.

  • Strong systems thinking to balance rapid iteration with building foundations others can extend.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption

  • Great product and design taste: as the barrier to building gets lower, taste matters more

Compensation & Benefits

Our cash compensation range for this role is $150,000-$275,000. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, relevant licenses/credentials, and other factors. We welcome compensation discussions if this range doesn't meet your requirements. Outstanding candidates may be eligible for adjusted terms, plus meaningful equity that ensures you benefit directly from the company's long-term performance.

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings. Our compensation package includes base salary, equity for all full time roles, benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans.

Benefits:
  • Competitive total compensation package (cash + equity)

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Retirement plan

  • Generous PTO policy

  • We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

What you need to know about the Austin Tech Scene

Austin has a diverse and thriving tech ecosystem thanks to home-grown companies like Dell and major campuses for IBM, AMD and Apple. The state’s flagship university, the University of Texas at Austin, is known for its engineering school, and the city is known for its annual South by Southwest tech and media conference. Austin’s tech scene spans many verticals, but it’s particularly known for hardware, including semiconductors, as well as AI, biotechnology and cloud computing. And its food and music scene, low taxes and favorable climate has made the city a destination for tech workers from across the country.

Key Facts About Austin Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 180,500; 13.7% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Dell, IBM, AMD, Apple, Alphabet
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, hardware, cloud computing, software, healthtech
  • Funding Landscape: $4.5 billion in VC funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Live Oak Ventures, Austin Ventures, Hinge Capital, Gigafund, KdT Ventures, Next Coast Ventures, Silverton Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Texas, Southwestern University, Texas State University, Center for Complex Quantum Systems, Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, Texas Advanced Computing Center
