This Equipment Engineer role sits at the intersection of factory operations and advanced automation — working directly with AMHS systems, autonomous mobile platforms (AMRs), and unique robotic solutions that keep our fab running. As a Texas Instruments Equipment Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a vibrant and dynamic team oriented environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating, selecting, and installing equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for automating the operational flow of company products
- Collaborating with Smart Manufacturing & Automation domain to align on sustainable, global solutions for legacy operations
- Overseeing the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
- Keeping current on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades and safety issues
- Designing and implementing unique solutions to tackle problems that don't have a predefined path to resolution
- Studying equipment performance and reliability
- Establishing programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process
- Providing technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations
- Defining and writing preventative maintenance schedules
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or related engineering degree
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment as an Equipment Engineer with AMHS and/or mobile platforms and/or 6-axis robots
Preferred Qualifications:
- Equipment experience with Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS), AGV or AMR platforms, industrial and collaborative 6 axis arm robots, or wafer sorters
- Experience working in a Semiconductor manufacturing environment as an Equipment Engineer with AMHS and/or mobile platforms and/or 6-axis robots
- Prior experience with Semiconductor process groups and/or factory operations
- Knowledge of coding languages such as python, JavaScript, html
- Strong analytical problem solving skills, comfortable working with data to get to root cause and using data to drive decision making
- Experience on tool monitoring and interdiction software, and equipment maintenance and documentation
- Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, and SPC techniques. Experienced with semiconductor cleanroom protocol and behaviors.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
- Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
