About us: 

Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 18 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our biggest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.

Role Information: 

The Animatic Editor/Editor plays a pivotal role in shaping the storytelling of each episode, transforming storyboards, dialogue, and sound into a compelling cinematic narrative. Working in close partnership with Creative Leadership and Directors, the Animatic Editor establishes the episode’s pacing, visual flow, and emotional impact, helping to define the creative vision before the project advances into layout and animation production.

Your duties will include:

  • Building and refining animatics from storyboards into dynamic narrative sequences, shaping timing, flow, and shot continuity.
  • Overseeing editorial process from animatic to final delivery.
  • Multi-tasking and juggling multiple episodes at the same time.
  • Inserting temp and final dialogue, temp sound effects, and temp music to bring together rhythm, comedic timing, and emotional pacing.
  • Work closely with Showrunners to explore and implement revisions that improve story structure, pacing, and overall narrative clarity.
  • Maintaining continuity and visual flow across all sequences and episodes.
  • Communicating with Production, Editorial team, and Post team to coordinate file updates and timing changes
  • Working closely with Production to track deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Organizing and maintaining editorial databases and file structures.
  • Any other reasonable tasks to assist the editorial team and the smooth running of production.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities reasonably required by the Company.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Animatic Editor/Editor
  • Strong understanding of story structure, comedic timing, and cinematic language.
  • High degree of proficiency in Adobe Premiere
  • Familiarity with importing, exporting, and managing materials for editorial
  • Self-motivated team player who can thrive in team environments as well as work independently
  • A can do attitude where no task is too big or too small.
  • Close attention to detail and commitment to high quality work
  • Knowledge of AVID Media Composer, After Effects, Toonboom Storyboard Pro, Autodesk Shotgrid.

Bonus Skills:

  • An understanding or experience with the arts, animation, gaming, and/or ‘internet nerd’ culture.
  • Be extremely organized and have a strong work ethic.
  • Engaging personality and willingness to learn.
  • Positive, go-getter attitude with a passion for making things.
