We are looking to add an Antenna Design Engineer II to our team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about developing leading-edge RF hardware for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems, we would like to hear from you.
In this position, you will be responsible for antenna designs from initial concept through requirements definition, topology selection, detailed design, analysis, optimization, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support of Cesium's products. The work will include many aspects of phased array communication systems, including RF front-ends, filters, beamformers, power dividers, and phased array antennas.
Daily tasks might include researching literature, full wave simulation of RF structures, antenna elements and antenna arrays. Additionally, you will perform analytical calculations of antenna and phased array performance, optimizing designs for performance and manufacturability, and provide detailed documentation of designs.
The successful candidate will also present engineering design review materials to our customers and internal teams. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Physics from an accredited university or institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Prior relevant internship or research experience in antenna design, analysis, optimization, fabrication, and test.
- Familiarity with3D electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST or HFSS.
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with electronics schematic and layout tools such as Altium.
- Aerospace electronics design, development, and qualification.
- Advanced coursework in communication systems.
- Advanced coursework in electromagnetics.
- EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques.
