Aprio invites high-performing accounting students interested in Audit or Tax to apply for the 2028 Aprio Spring (January–April) or Summer (June–August) Internship Programs.

This internship is designed for students who are eager to contribute, take initiative, and gain meaningful exposure to public accounting. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, leadership potential, and a commitment to professional excellence. Applicants should be interested in pursuing a full-time career in public accounting, be on track to pursue their CPA license, and have a clear plan for completing the required coursework and examination process.

Interns at Aprio dive directly into hands-on client work, collaborating with experienced professionals while developing the technical and professional skills necessary for a successful career in public accounting.

• No classes are permitted during the duration of the internship period.
• Spring internships are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and standard business hours.
• Summer internships are 32 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, and standard business hours.
• This internship is designed as a fully in-office experience to maximize mentorship, collaboration, and real-time learning with our teams.

Tax intern responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with the preparation of tax returns
• Supporting clients in tax research and planning strategies
• Analyzing financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance considerations
• Collaborating with team members to deliver innovative and practical tax solutions
• Interacting with professionals across the firm to support client service initiatives

Aprio’s Tax team works with a variety of clients, providing interns the opportunity to gain exposure to complex tax matters while developing meaningful relationships with colleagues and clients.

Audit intern responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with assurance engagements
• Supporting teams in evaluating internal controls and financial reporting processes
• Analyzing financial data and documentation to identify potential risks or areas for improvement
• Participating in testing procedures and audit documentation
• Collaborating with team members to help clients maintain compliance with evolving accounting standards
• Potential travel to client sites

Qualifications

Accounting major pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Minimum 3.3 GPA
On track to meet CPA eligibility requirements with a clear plan to pursue CPA licensure
Interest in pursuing a full-time career in public accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to apply Excel skills in data analysis and reporting
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with clients and team members
Must be authorized to work in the U.S without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
