Your role at Dynatrace

The Professional Services Architect is accountable for the technical integrity, delivery viability, and customer outcomes of complex Dynatrace engagements. The role combines architecture, consulting, and implementation leadership to design scalable, supportable, and commercially viable solutions that help customers achieve their observability, automation, and digital transformation goals.

Working across customers, partners, and internal teams, the Architect defines solution strategies, implementation roadmaps, governance models, and operational standards while ensuring commitments are achievable before they are made. The role also strengthens delivery capability by mentoring consultants, promoting best practice, and contributing to the evolution of Dynatrace Professional Services methodologies and architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead customer discovery sessions, architecture workshops, and technical advisory engagements to understand business objectives, technical requirements, operational challenges, and success criteria.
  • Design and govern scalable Dynatrace solutions and deployment architectures across enterprise, cloud, and cloud-native environments, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry best practices.
  • Own the architectural quality and delivery readiness of assigned engagements, ensuring solutions are scalable, supportable, commercially viable, and aligned to measurable customer outcomes.
  • Define implementation strategies, onboarding approaches, governance models, operational standards, and transition plans that support long-term platform adoption and success.
  • Advise customers on observability strategies and the effective use of Dynatrace capabilities and ecosystem integrations to improve operational resilience, service performance, and business outcomes.
  • Architect and guide integrations between Dynatrace and enterprise platforms, including cloud services, ITSM solutions, security tools, CI/CD pipelines, and other operational systems.
  • Provide architectural leadership for RFP, RFI, and proposal engagements by defining solution strategies, validating requirements, and contributing to scope, estimates, assumptions, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and delivery risk—ensuring commitments are achievable before they are made to the customer.
  • Collaborate with Product, Support, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders to address complex customer requirements, technical escalations, and product improvement opportunities.
  • Mentor consultants, partners, and technical teams by reviewing solution designs, sharing best practices, developing reusable assets, and driving delivery excellence across the organization.
  • Maintain expertise in modern observability, cloud-native technologies, automation, security, and operational best practices to provide trusted architectural guidance and thought leadership.
What will help you succeed
  • Typically 8+ years of relevant experience in enterprise technology consulting, solution architecture, observability, platform engineering, SRE, cloud, application performance, or IT operations, including ownership of complex customer engagements.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Deep practical knowledge of modern application architectures, including microservices, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, APIs, distributed systems, messaging, databases, and common enterprise middleware.
  • Strong understanding of telemetry and observability standards, including OpenTelemetry, OTLP, logs, metrics, traces, events, topology, service-level objectives, and data-quality practices.
  • Working knowledge of software delivery and operations practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, GitOps, SRE, incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, and DevSecOps.
  • Ability to create clear architecture diagrams, decision records, implementation plans, governance models, executive narratives, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to lead structured workshops, manage competing priorities, communicate risks, influence without authority, and present credibly from engineering teams to C-level executives.
  • Commercial and delivery acumen, including scope control, estimation, assumptions, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and value-based outcome definition.
  • Relevant industry certifications across cloud, observability, automation, security, IT operations, or delivery are highly regarded, alongside demonstrated practical expertise.
  • Obtain Dynatrace Associate Certification within 2 months of joining and Dynatrace Professional Certification within 6 months of joining.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and maintaining relevant technical certifications.

Desired Experience:

  • Architecture or transformation experience in regulated industries, government, financial services, telecommunications, or other complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing enterprise observability operating models, centers of excellence, platform-product models, or governance frameworks.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, major cloud platforms, Kubernetes platforms, OpenTelemetry, automation/orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and security ecosystems.
  • Experience with executive value realization, adoption measurement, ROI narratives, quarterly business reviews, and outcome-based roadmaps.
  • Contributions to technical communities through reusable assets, enablement, white papers, conference sessions, blogs, or mentoring.

Travel and development requirements

  • Occasional customer-site, regional, or training travel may be required, subject to business need and local policy.
  • Continuous professional development is expected to maintain currency in the Dynatrace platform and relevant industry technologies.
  • The role may participate in field observation, strategic customer workshops, internal enablement, and industry events.
