This work challenges and rewards, presenting complex problems that need ambitious answers. About the Role

The PrePass marketing team is tasked with expanding the PrePass brand. We are energized by the prospect of breaking ground in our field and making a positive impact within the transportation industry. We are looking for an Art Director, Motion and Brand, with strong design, motion, and animation fundamentals and a passion for visual storytelling. This person not only values great craftsmanship but also knows how to turn complex products and ideas into clear, compelling video and animation that share the PrePass story and purpose with our customers.

As the Art Director, Motion and Brand, you'll work with the Senior Art Director, the Director of Marketing Comms, and the larger Marketing team to bring the PrePass brand to life in motion. You'll own video and animated content for performance marketing campaigns, product launches, social, web, and events, with secondary responsibility for digital design across email, social, landing pages, and other channels. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables.

Essential ResponsibilitiesVideo, Motion, and Animation
  • Conceptualize, storyboard, and produce video and animated content for social, web, email, paid media, webinars, and trade show screens.
  • Create product explainers, animated demos, and short-form videos that make complex solutions—toll management, weigh station bypass, and safety—easy to understand.
  • Design and animate 2D motion graphics, kinetic typography, illustrated animation, and animated data visualizations.
  • Edit and finish video from raw footage, including pacing, sound design, music selection, captioning, and color correction.
  • Support video shoots, customer testimonials, and event coverage, from shot lists to final edit.
  • Build animated brand elements, including logo animations, lower thirds, transitions, and title sequences.
  • Develop motion guidelines and reusable templates that keep video and animated content consistent and on-brand.
Brand and Creative Support
  • Design marketing assets, including emails, social graphics, landing pages, web banners, and paid ads.
  • Create supporting collateral and assets for campaigns and events, such as video thumbnails, ad variations, and presentation graphics.
  • Extend the PrePass visual brand identity consistently across video, motion, and digital channels.
  • Generate strong conceptual ideas aligned with strategic business goals.
  • Clearly articulate creative rationale, concepts, and visual direction to key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to all phases of the creative process: research, brainstorming, scripts, storyboards, animatics, style frames, and final production.
Collaboration and Tools
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional internal teams and external vendors.
  • Use design and production tools such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, and Asana, along with generative AI tools such as Adobe Firefly and Google Flow, to speed up ideation and production.
  • Prepare and optimize files for each channel, including aspect ratios, file sizes, and accessibility standards.
Project Execution
  • Manage day-to-day workflow while meeting deadlines across multiple initiatives.
  • Support marketing events such as webinars, trade shows, and product launches with motion and design assets.
  • Stay current on design, animation, and video trends and bring fresh ideas to the team.

RequirementsQualifications/Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in design, motion graphics, and animation, gained at an agency, startup, or in-house team.
  • A portfolio and reel that showcase polished video editing, motion graphics, animation, and strong design fundamentals—including typography, layout, color, and composition.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, plus Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions through a strategic business lens.
  • A self-starter who takes full ownership of design projects, both large and small.
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage timelines across multiple initiatives.
  • Based in the United States.
Bonus Points For
