Our legal team supports one of the largest payment infrastructures in the world, helping enable customer trust and prevent fraud and scams every day. We’re looking for a new team member to focus on innovative approaches to digital identification, customer authentication, and the overall prevention of fraud and scams. You’ll partner with leaders to provide trusted advice and legal support for new product developments and enhancements, customer-facing communications, required and recommended disclosures, data use guidance, and more. You’ll develop and deepen expertise in laws surrounding biometric use, digital credentials, and authentication standards, while keeping clients informed on rapidly evolving regulations, engaging in regulatory advocacy, and translating regulatory change into practical product decisions alongside smart, collegial, and fun partners.

As a Vice President in Trust and Security Legal for JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Consumer & Community Bank (CCB), you will be a part of CCB’s Connected Commerce, Payments, and Digital Legal team. In addition to the role’s overall focus on customer Trust & Security,  you will be part of the broader team supporting Product & Experience, which includes numerous digital products and service for the bank’s customers. As a lawyer on the team, you will provide legal support including direct product counsel, advice on strategy and business decisions, conducting content reviews for customer-facing material, guidance on data use, monitoring and engaging in advocacy regarding emerging laws and regulations, updating agreements and terms and conditions and more. You will join a team of lawyers and legal professionals who combine deep product expertise with knowledge of emerging and wholly new technologies and their use for our customers’ benefit, helping to drive fast, safe, innovation. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide practical, risk-based legal guidance in the areas of digital credentials; customer authentication; and fraud and scam prevention. 
  • Advise product and business leaders on product development, strategy, current and changing legal frameworks, and risk decisions for new and evolving biometric use cases and capabilities.
  • Counsel product leads on discrete, but expanding, areas of customer authentication, including advice on implementation strategy, contracts, and customer communications.
  • Support initiatives involving emerging technologies and partner-enabled capabilities, including governance approvals and issue escalation.
  • Review customer-facing content to ensure clear, accurate, and compliant disclosures and communications.
  • Draft and update agreements, disclosures, and terms and conditions to support product development and ongoing operations.
  • Monitor laws, regulations, enforcement trends, and industry standards impacting covered products and services.
  • Identify legal and regulatory issues early and escalate material risks with clear options and recommendations.
  • Summarize regulatory developments for stakeholders and translate requirements into actionable product and process changes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of applicable policies, procedures, and controls.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 


  • Lawyer qualified to practice in the United States (active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Background in financial services regulation or supporting another highly regulated business.
  • Proactive problem-solver who is not afraid to explore new technologies and can demonstrate a thoughtful approach to testing and incorporating new tools into a professional environment.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills, with the ability to summarize legal and regulatory developments clearly and concisely for distribution and oral presentation to a non-legal audience.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with the business, corporate functions, and fellow legal and support professionals.
  • A true self-starter with the ability to work independently to manage competing and changing priorities and coordinate among a wide range of internal stakeholders.
  • Comfort in a rapidly changing business environment, and ease in switching subject matters throughout the day.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • A sense of humor.
