The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager and Practice Leadership in the planning, coordination, and delivery of infrastructure projects. This role contributes to project execution, client service, and team collaboration while developing technical, project management, and leadership skills. 


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Practice Leadership to support the planning, execution, and delivery of projects.
  • Assist in developing proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and cost estimates, contributing to accurate project planning and resource allocation.
  • Support engineering planning, analysis, design, and coordination efforts across project phases, including design, permitting, and construction.
  • Execute project work plans, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with client expectations and company standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external sub-consultants to ensure alignment on technical requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Participate in QA/QC processes to maintain quality standards and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Contribute to solving design and project challenges by evaluating alternatives and supporting the development of effective solutions.
  • Support day-to-day communication and coordination among team members, with increasing responsibility for managing project components as experience grows.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and clients, supporting overall client satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff as appropriate, while continuing to develop leadership capabilities.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities accurately and on time, including time entry, expense reporting, and project documentation.
  • Engage in professional development activities, including participation in industry associations and networking opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related field.
  • Texas Professional Engineer registration preferred
  • 4+ years of direct experience
