The Assistant Site Manager supports their manager with all Post Retail Outlet and Operations in their assigned building. The Assistant Site Manager supervises all employees assigned to the Operations and Outlet team to include all day-to-day operations and administrative functions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing all aspects of outlet, recycling, and dock operations.
  • Assists in managing equipment status, repairs, maintenance, and safety within Post Retail.
  • Recruit, select, develop, evaluate and counsel assigned employee(s). Terminate employees in accordance with Goodwill policies and in coordination with the Human Resources department.
  • Manage and supervise staff activities to ensure departmental goals, budgets and objectives are met.
  • Manage all personnel in accordance with applicable company local, state, and federal policies including ensuring compliance with all applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Attend meetings with other GCT departments, outside agencies, or other organizations as required.
  • Maintain a professional work environment and appropriate standards of safety, cleanliness and organization of both fleet and warehouse operations.
  • Ensures monthly revenue and expenses are in line with budget and adjust operations as necessary to meet goals.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development for assigned team and model expected behavior for staff. Maintain a positive relationship with management, peers, and subordinates; encourage interactions between all departments. Promote the Mission of Goodwill.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all Display the highest ethical standards when making decisions related to our people and business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities over all hourly Post-Retail team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics, recycling, or similar field with supervisory responsibilities of 50+ employees.
  • Must have excellent communication skills. Bilingual preferred.
  • Must have excellent analytical, creative, and flexible problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must demonstrate a maturity of practice using the 5 pillars and principles of servant leadership.
  • Must possess understanding of marginalization and how it impacts those Goodwill serves and employs.
  • Exhibit respect for diversity of thought and have experience to advance it in teams/organization.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear. 
  • The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
