Definition

We’re growing quickly and building a world-class sales organization — and the Associate Account Executive (AAE) position is the ideal entry point for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact and build a long-term career in healthcare sales.

What makes this opportunity unique is the unmatched level of training and support you’ll receive. From day one, you’ll work side-by-side with a top-performing Senior Account Executive for nine months — mastering the sales process, learning the business, and building your own client pipeline with direct, hands-on mentorship. Our goal is to invest deeply in your development so you’re set up for long-term success.

This role is also an excellent fit for medical assistants or other healthcare professionals who want to apply their clinical knowledge and patient-care experience in a new way — solving problems, building relationships, and driving impact from a different perspective.

Job Description

  • Work closely with a Senior Account Executive to learn and execute the full sales cycle.
  • Identify, qualify, and nurture new business opportunities through proactive outreach.
  • Participate in sales presentations, client meetings, and solution development.
  • Support relationship management efforts to ensure client retention and satisfaction.
  • Track key activities, maintain accurate pipeline data, and meet point-based revenue goals.
  • Conduct outreach to prospective healthcare providers, clinics, and institutional partners to expand market presence.
  • Assist with onboarding new accounts, including setting up ordering portals, test requisition processes, and training clinical staff on specimen collection and logistics.
  • Monitor client utilization and testing trends; proactively identify opportunities for growth or improvement.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of healthcare sales experience (or transferable skills).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly coachable with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Competitive drive, resilience, and a commitment to exceeding goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Clinical experience (e.g., as a medical assistant or patient-facing team member) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both clinical and administrative audiences.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical information in a clear, professional manner.
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple accounts with attention to detail.

Growth & Advancement

The Associate Account Executive program is intentionally structured as a nine-month development track. During this time, you’ll work closely with an experienced Senior Account Executive, receiving real-world mentorship and support that is virtually unheard of in sales organizations.

Upon completing the development period, you will be considered for promotion to Account Executive — a position with full territory responsibility and increased compensation.

Sales & Marketing Support

  • Participate in territory sales planning, client presentations, and marketing campaigns promoting genetic testing panels (e.g., pharmacogenomics, hereditary cancer, infectious disease).
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to develop client-facing materials, proposals, and case studies.
  • Maintain accurate records of client communications, pipeline activity, and revenue forecasts within the CRM system.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with laboratory operations, billing, and compliance teams to ensure smooth test processing, turnaround time, and issue resolution.
  • Communicate provider feedback and market insights to inform product development and service enhancements.
  • Attend industry conferences, regional meetings, and provider events as a representative of the company’s genetics division.
