JOB SUMMARY

ERCOT’s Client Services Development Program (CSDP) is a 12-month rotational program designed to develop entry-level or career-transitioning candidates into technical subject matter experts and primary points of contact for ERCOT market operations.

This 12-month rotational program is designed to build you into a trusted point of contact for ERCOT Market Participants. CDSP candidates build a strong foundation in ERCOT’s market systems, protocols, and grid operations, with emphasis on technical analysis, market rule interpretation, and system/process integration. Associates will rotate through Market Training, Market Support Services, and Client Services Account Management — gaining hands-on exposure to the systems, data flows, protocols, and operational processes that support the ERCOT wholesale market and grid operations.

Through structured training, mentoring, and project-based work, associates develop the ability to translate complex market rules and system behaviors into actionable guidance for Market Participants, positioning them for technical-facing roles within Client Services and across ERCOT. No prior experience in energy markets is required. We are looking for technically curious, analytically minded candidates who are ready to learn and grow.

JOB DUTIES

  • Applies foundational knowledge of ERCOT market systems, protocols, and grid operations to analyze operational scenarios and data.
  • Understands grid and market rules, procedures, and system outputs to support accurate and consistent decision-making.
  • Contributes to technical deliverables, process improvements, and operational objectives under guidance.

  • Strong interest in power systems, energy markets, or large-scale operational systems.
  • Self-motivated with a growth mindset — you take ownership of your development.
