Business Transformation – Associate Director
By joining our rapidly growing Business Transformation practice you will serve as a trusted partner to our clients. You’ll bring your first-hand experience, unique perspectives, and functional knowledge to deliver tailored integrated solutions that help our clients solve today's challenges and set the foundation for future success. As an Associate Director at CrossCountry Consulting you will be responsible for a mix of client delivery, leading teams and developing junior team members, and participating in business development activities helping CFOs rebuild how planning, forecasting, close, and consolidation actually work and then activate that design through the platforms that run it.

We do both the strategy and the execution: operating model design, process reinvention, platform selection, implementation enablement, and hands-on FP&A support when clients need it most. As an Associate Director, you'll be responsible for a mix of client delivery leadership, team development, and business development, owning outcomes at the CFO level while building the practice around you.

What You'll Do:

    • Advisory & Operating Model Design

      • Lead the design and activation of FP&A and close & consolidation operating models, organizational structure, roles and RACI, service delivery model, close and planning calendars, governance forums, and performance metrics that prove the model is working

      • Own end-to-end process design and implementation for complex organizations across budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, management reporting, financial close, consolidation, intercompany, and statutory-to-management reporting

      • Lead client workshops grounded in diagnostic assessments to align stakeholders, facilitate current- and future-state design, and build consensus around transformation decisions across people, process, data, and technology. Develop strategic blueprints, target operating models, and multi-year transformation roadmaps that sequence near-term wins against structural and strategic changes

      • Provide strategic FP&A surge and interim support when needed, using hands-on exposure to identify process, operating model, and performance improvement opportunities and translate observations into actionable recommendations.

      • Model and optimize existing processes: cycle time reduction, handoff elimination, control simplification, and automation of manual effort

      EPM Technology Enablement

      • Guide EPM platform evaluation and selection: requirements definition, RFP design, vendor demo scenario development, scoring frameworks, and fit/total-cost recommendations

      • Lead implementation enablement across the full delivery lifecycle: program and project management, functional requirements and design, dimensionality and data model input, test strategy and execution (SIT/UAT), data conversion, and reconciliation of converted balances back to source

      • Own change management and adoption, stakeholder analysis, communications, training, hypercare, and the behavioral shift that determines whether a platform actually gets used

      • Partner with data and analytics teams on source-system integration, master data, and downstream reporting so the EPM layer connects to the broader finance data ecosystem

      • Bring a credible point of view on where AI and automation genuinely improve forecasting, variance analysis, and close

      Market & Practice Development

      • Support the full business development cycle: opportunity identification, discovery, scoping, pricing, proposal and SOW development, orals, and close

      • Build and expand client relationships that generate follow-on work; serve as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Controllers, and heads of FP&A

      • Contribute to practice building: methodology, accelerators, delivery assets, qualifications, and commercial/pricing models

      • Develop thought leadership and represent the firm at industry conferences and within the EPM alliance and partner ecosystem

      • Collaborate across CrossCountry Consulting solution areas (Technical Accounting, Transactions, Private Equity, Data Transformation & Analytics, AI Strategy) to bring the full firm to the client

      Team Leadership

      • Lead delivery teams spanning consultants through managers across multiple concurrent engagements, with accountability for quality, margin, and client experience

      • Serve as a coach to set goals, give direct feedback, and actively manage performance and career progression

      • Play a hands-on role in talent acquisition: interviewing, assessing, and closing candidates who reflect our Core Values

      • Contributing to recruiting, proposal writing, and firm-wide AI innovation initiatives

    •

What You'll Bring:

    • 9+ years of progressive experience across FP&A, financial close and consolidation, finance transformation, or EPM advisory, including 5+ years in a client-serving consulting environment

    • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end FP&A and/or close and consolidation transformations at complex organizations (multi-entity, multi-currency, multi-ERP, PE-backed, or SEC-registrant reporting environments)

    • Hands-on experience across the EPM lifecycle with at least one leading platform, OneStream strongly preferred; Anaplan, Planful, Oracle EPM/Hyperion/FCCS, Workday Adaptive, Pigment, or Cube also relevant

    • Strong functional command of the FP&A stack: driver-based planning, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, scenario and sensitivity modeling, profitability and cost allocation, management reporting, and KPI design

    • Working knowledge of consolidation mechanics, intercompany eliminations, legal entity and ownership structures, currency translation and CTA, top-side adjustments, and GAAP/non-GAAP bridges

    • Proven business development contribution: sourcing, shaping, and closing work — not only delivering it

    • Track record leading and developing multi-level delivery teams

    • Executive presence: able to hold a room with a CFO and to build the analysis and narrative that gets a decision made

    • Continuous Learning Mindset: Openness to continuously learning and applying emerging LLM capabilities, agent frameworks, and enterprise integration patterns.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline

    • Experience in professional services (public accounting, advisory firm, or management consulting firm) strongly preferred

    • Experience facilitating Kaizen, Human-Centered Design, or other structured workshops preferred

    • CPA, CFA, AFP Certified Corporate FP&A Professional, OneStream certifications, PMP, or Prosci/change management certification preferred

    • Prior in-house FP&A or controllership experience alongside consulting a plus

    • Familiarity with ERP ecosystems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics) and analytics tooling (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) a plus

    • Exposure to PE-backed portfolio companies, carve-outs, IPO readiness, or post-merger integration a plus

    • MBA or master's degree a plus

    • Willingness to travel up to 45% based on client needs
