Associate Software Engineer - Core Platform (Ruby/Rails)

Location: Remote US

Compensation Range: $95,000 to $130,000 base plus bonus and equity

What you’ll do:

Huntress is looking for a Associate Software Engineer that is hungry to learn and grow. This person should have excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. You will join a team responsible for end-to-end feature delivery: designing, developing, and releasing software features for the Huntress Core Platform.

Our Core Platform contains the foundational components that power the entire Huntress product suite. It consists of several capabilities, including the notification system, onboarding and activation, authentication and authorization, end-to-end user experience, integrations and APIs, and billing and subscriptions. Your contributions to our high-performing team will help us scale our product suite that protects ALL businesses, not just the 1%.

Responsibilities:

• Own and develop features from start to finish with support from more senior engineers. This includes engineering design, coding, testing, and rollout
• Hold a high bar for yourself and the team when it comes to code quality, scalability, and maintainability – through automated and manual testing, code reviews, and code pairing
• Work in all levels of the stack – frontend, backend, database, AWS, etc.
• Actively engage and contribute to the team and new innovations
• Provide actionable feedback to teammates and your manager
• Foster positive communication within the team and organization
• Propose feature-level technical solutions

What you bring to the team:

• 2+ years of experience developing software, including school/bootcamp projects
• Some experience programming in Ruby on Rails
• Some experience with JavaScript and CSS
• Some experience working with external APIs
• Some experience reviewing code, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting
• Some experience working on Linux-based infrastructure
• BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience gained through work experience
