JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Sustainability Consultant Associate, you will help manage the multiple documentation steps for our services. This role will focus on technical writing and communication internally and externally, with room to expand into supporting service delivery. The team sits across the world and you will experience supporting customers and team members globally. The focus of this team is on the technical evaluation of existing and developing standards in our Carbon Practice. This includes, but is not limited to: Lifecycle assessment (LCA), Product Category Rules (PCR), Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), and advisory services to help customers meet growing regulations and procurement requirements (EPR, CBAM, EU Battery Regulation, US LEED, etc).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Works independently requiring only moderate guidance from senior colleagues to deliver results.
Supports the preparation of analysis and client facing materials for both internal/UL teams and external client teams.
Supports the communication of information to clients, peers, managers and other stakeholders.
Supports business development efforts by aiding the definition of Statements of Work (SOWs) and development of budgetary estimates for client proposals.
Supports client engagements by interacting regularly with clients in project meetings. Addresses client concerns and to resolve client issues.
May represent UL in technical and industry events including publication of articles, presentation of findings, and dissemination of knowledge to the technical community, with the help and support of more senior colleagues within the wider organization.
Actively continues to expand on his/her knowledge of relevant UL processes, services, customers, etc.
Integrates continuous improvement and safety culture in all aspects of the job.
Reads and follows the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
Performs other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
University Degree in consulting relevant field such as environmental management, energy management, built environment, engineering, architecture, sustainability. 1 year of work experience required. Additional formal certifications are desirable; for example LCA, LEED AP, Fitwel AP, WELL AP, BREEAM Assessor. Excellent speaking and writing communication skills in English and Spanish. Interested in learning more about sustainabile product services and certifications. Able to attend meetings locally and join customer facing calls. Excellent Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and some knowlege of using Ai in communications and analysis.
