Job Overview:

Cambium Learning Group is looking for a Benefits Manager to oversee the management and continuous improvement of our health, welfare, leave of absence, and wellbeing programs and ensure they remain market-leading, inclusive, and aligned with our Total Rewards philosophy.

In this high-impact role, you’ll report to the VP, Total Rewards & People Operations and manage vendor relationships, oversee leave and accommodation program administration, and partner cross-functionally to deliver scalable, well-managed programs that employees and managers understand and trust.

Job Responsibilities:

Benefits Program Management

  • Serve as the end-to-end owner of Cambium’s leave of absence and accommodation programs, accountable for vendor performance, case quality, compliance execution, and a seamless employee experience.

  • Enhance how programs operate by improving processes, leveraging vendor capabilities, and increasing automation where appropriate.

  • Evaluate and refine Cambium’s benefits vendor structure, recommending changes when needed to build accountability, service quality, and long-term program alignment.

  • Own the content and enablement approach for benefits programs, increasing visibility and engagement across our full portfolio of offerings. Develop clear resources and structured engagement plans (e.g., vendor sessions, targeted education, awareness campaigns) that help employees fully understand and utilize the benefits available to them.

  • Build and advance a wellbeing roadmap that aligns programs (mental health, financial wellbeing, leave, core benefits) into a cohesive experience. Use data, utilization trends, and employee feedback to prioritize improvements and deepen the overall employee experience.

Leave of Absence & Accommodations

  • Own Cambium’s leave of absence and accommodation programs end-to-end, including vendor oversight, escalations, process design, and compliance coordination.

  • Continuously evolve Cambium’s leave program through thoughtful redesign of how leave is administered, introducing automation and practical improvements that support long-term sustainability.

  • Enhance the leave program by clarifying ownership and responsibilities across all stakeholders, ensuring clear expectations and confidence in program execution.

Analytics, Compliance & Vendor Oversight

  • Analyze medical, pharmacy, leave, and utilization data to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for smarter program design and efficiency.

  • Partner with brokers and carriers during renewals to assess performance, risk exposure, and plan sustainability.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance across health and welfare programs, including coordination with vendors to offload administrative and regulatory burden where appropriate

  • Support Open Enrollment by partnering with vendors and internal teams to ensure readiness, clear communication, and effective execution throughout the enrollment cycle.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of managing employee benefits programs.

  • Proven operational and program management skills across multi-vendor environments.

  • Effective analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into clear recommendations.

  • Experience managing leave of absence programs and accommodations in partnership with third-party administrators.

  • Ability to identify process improvements that increase efficiency and scalability

  • Experience with Workday benefits administration preferred.

  • Thrives in collaborative, growth-focused environments and comfortable operating in a hands-on program ownership role.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to drive high-impact projects that shape Cambium’s employee benefits and wellbeing experience.

  • Exposure to and collaboration with People Experience leadership and cross-functional teams across the business.

  • The opportunity to strengthen operational excellence, vendor accountability, and scalability across Cambium’s benefits ecosystem.
